black_amaranth I'm really sorry about this. I understand just how annoying fangirls can be. I am one myself and yet sometimes I really want blow up on the so-called crazy ones. Hetalia is a show about comedy and history, NOT romance and drama. For me, shipping is just a fun thing I do, and yet so many fangirls seem to think that that's all Hetalia is about, acting as if one is insulting their mother or something if you so much as to say that you don't like the pairing they do. Of course, this thing only applies to yaoi pairings, since few fangirls care enough about Hetero couples to start an argument over them. They even go as far as to bash female characters, calling them 'whores' because 'they get the way of yaoi'. Truly pathetic, if you ask me. To them, if two male characters so much as stand next to each other, then they're instantly a match made in heaven. Again, I'm sorry for how crazy some yaoi (I fail to think of those girls as fans of Hetalia, since all they care about is how hot the yaoi couples are, not the actual meaning of the webcomic) fangirls are. I just really wish that one day they would grow up and stop acting so chidishly.

MallowMarsh Yes, thank you! Although I have nothing at all against same-gender pairings, it just doesn't seem realistic if [i]everyone[/i] is gay, you know? And apart from that, why are the fangirls arguing over who should end up with who and sexual orientation even though it has nothing to do with Hetalia itself? To be frank, it's just annoying. And even though it's inevitable that pretty much every fandom will have at least some fans like this, it appalls and disgusts me to see how many are in the Hetalia fandom. Shipping isn't wrong. In fact, it can be fun. But just don't go overboard. Thank you for writing this.

Cheshire_Pasta I know exactly how you feel! -glomps you- I've run into the same exact things so many times I've lost count now. Most fans just completely utterly forget what Hetalia is about... I have nothing against shipping but, it does seem like if two characters so much as shake hands with eachother fangirls immediately ship them. It's very annoying and aggrivating. I don't mean to sound mean but, all most fangirls seem to care about is which two characters are "having sex" Thank you so much for writing this! And I can totally relate to seeing THOSE fanarts... -shudders- Ugh... It's just creepy. They make Hetalia look like some creepy porno... It breaks my heart.

And if you don't ship a pairing, than you automatically like "eye-candy" I don't even know what that is! o.O Shipping is just for fun and games. It's not real. Some (still not mentioning) think it's something to take seriously. There's a fan here in this site who said they hope I never be in a relationship because of who I ship. First of all, what the fuck? hetalianstella Yes I agree with you~! I hate how Hetalia is portrayed as being some sort of yaoi by the fandom. Not that I have anything against yaoi or shipping~ I just really hate how inaccurate it is to portray Hetalia in such a way. It distracts from the entire meaning of the show! I've had several people who I've tried to introduce Hetalia to who took one look at the fandom and got such a horrible first impression of it. I myself when I first started watching it thought the same thing and probably would have stopped watching it completely if it wasn't for my friend's reassurance. Thankfully I continued to watch it and am so glad I did ^ ^ But just think of all of the other people who have been pushed away from Hetalia because of it D: Not only does it drive away new coming fans but it spoils it for the people who already are fans! It's annoying to go to the comment section of every Hetalia video and see it flooded with shipping comments -__- I just think because there's few girls in the show and so many male characters that it attracts those type of fans. It especially bothers me when these Hetalia "fans" will only watch a few episodes of the actual show and then go straight to the fandom for yaoi. And, I sadly know what you mean by those...scary pictures *shudders*. I really don't understand why such fans need to try to turn an amazing anime like Hetalia into a yaoi when there's so much other anime that are [i]specifically designed[/i] for that purpose! Anyway, yaoi doesn't interest me but I really don't have anything against it. If that's what makes people happy than that's wonderful~ But I just wish they could be more mature and realize the true Hetalia. Not some perverted headcannon one~ Anyway, wonderful article! ^ ^

EmoSasuSaku I totally agree. I'm female and I was [b]really[/b] hesitate to watch Hetalia. I thought it was a gross Yaoi anime at first from all of the fan art. But then I gave it a chance and it was amazing and hilarious. I don't even focus on the shipping more of a waste of time and breath but I do like SwedenxFinland and AustriaxHungary as well. I'm pretty much open to whatever as long as you don't show me appalling fan art. Please.
