Well, I thought I'd write a little tribute to Matt Parkman since he is my favorito hero. He probably isn't alot of people's favorite. Sure, most heroes viewers like him well enough, but he doesn't stand out to them. Parkman doesn't get the fã support of Peter or Claire or even Sylar. So I thought I'd write a little something on WHY he is my favorite, and why he deserves mais respect.
What makes Matt Parkman my hero..
1. Unlike the others, he was already trying to save the world (in his own small way) before he ever got his powers. He was a cop. Sure, his leitura disability kept him from being anything mais than a traffic cop, but still he tried as hard as he knew how to make a difference.
2. Even after his wife cheated on him he was willing to try sticking with it and giving her another chance, until, of course, the baby turned out not to be his. And who could really blame him for walking away then rather than living a life of quiet resentment raising a child that was the result of his wife's philandering.
3. When the world needed saving he rushed right in and did his best. Did he go about it the smartest way? No. Noone will ever accuse Matt of having an overabundance of brains. But he's got balls for days and his courage and willingness to lay himself on the line for others makes up for his deficiency in the smarts department.
4. After all he had been through...kidnapped, cheated on, baby wasn't his, took 4 bullets in the chest...he was still willing to step up to the plate and take in Molly, a little girl he barely knew, just because she was all alone in the world and needed him.
5. He is the most relatable. He's human and flawed. He makes mistakes that most of us would make in that situation. He screws up and does some questionable things. But, he feels badly when he's done wrong and he keeps trying to do the right thing, no matter how hard it is or how many times he's gotten it wrong in the past. In truth, that is how most of us live our lives. Falling down, getting back up, doing wrong, trying to do better, over and over. Parkman is not super-homem from another planet. He's just like the rest of us.
Now, does Matt have his flaws? Absolutely. As I said before, he'll never be accused of being a genius....he might have thought twice before rushing out to shoot a telekinetic. He's done some questionable things as well...the whole diamond incident and also the thing with Angela Petrelli (even if he meant well and the witch deserved it). He could probably use a few parenting classes too. Despite their best efforts, neither he nor Mohinder would win father of the year.
So yes, Matt is flawed, but as I said, that is one of the reasons I like him. And when he screws up, he tries harder than anybody else to get it right. And no matter how many times he falls down or fails, he gets back up. Never ever gives up.
And he does it without the benefit of Nathan's charisma, Peter's prettiness, Mohinder's brains, HRG's cunning, or Hiro's enthusiasm. Parkman is a classic underdog. Just an average guy...not particularly smart or handsome or gifted... doing the best he can when thrust into the worst possible situation.
Anyway, that, in a nutshell, is why I amor him.
So, when he was being wheeled away on that stretcher at the end of Season 1 and Molly cried "Please don't die, Officer Parkman, you're my hero." I was like, I hear ya Molly...he's my hero too.

Awesome the best thing ever to be aired,I have never been hooked on anything like this,I mean I can't do anything when its on,its rush the kids to cama get somerthing to much and get totally lost in the show so it lives up to its name really!!This is the reason the tv was made!!! even my son watch's it in cama it just a shame that cos I live in the uk we got to wait for ages to see the seguinte season!if anyone out there can update me on the seguinte season i would be most greatfull!!! I was introduce to www.dvdsetshop.com. I will enjoy the next.
I was using my phone online using 3G when i came across this heores : official mobile game , being a heroes fã , i downloaded it.... the storyline of the games is somewhat the same as the real show, but they made changes to it, like future peter actually told hiro that slar was the bomb... and hiro dint kill syalr... and it all takes place at different places... overal it was fun... you can stop time and mover objects, shoot fire, throw things, fly and stuff.....
