One of the main points of the books is that your actions, not your family or blood status, defines who you are... Voldemort was pure evil and he was only a half-blood, and Harry was (overall) a very good person and he was half-blood too. So I'm sorry but I think that this is a racist and inappropriate question, even if we are refering to fictional characters and a fictional world. You cannot choose your family or heritage in Harry's world nor can you in ours. This question is like asking if you like a certain race of people. There are good and bad people of every race, just as there are good and bad people who are pure-bloods. I cannot choose which group I prefer because my preference is not defined by how pure their blood is.

Btw, the Blacks aren't all that cool... Look at Bellatrix - she tortured two people to insanity for information. And Sirius' mother's painting screams at everyone from the Order calling them mudbloods and blood-traitors. Sirius is great, and Regulus turns out to be not all that bad (even though he did join the Death Eaters, he got out) but I don't know if you can call all of the Blacks "cool".

I see your point tessajanuary, but it was just a question about books... he wasn't trying to be offensive to all those fictional characters out there!
Anyway, just trying to stay away from arguments.
Overall, I think he meant: "Out of the characters that you like the most, are most of them half-blood or pure-blood?"

Whether you view this question as "do you judge people on their blood status" or "are your favorite characters more pure-bloods or half-bloods" my answers still this. For the first interpretation, it's pretty obvious.

For the second, my favorite characters are mixed. Severus is a half-blood, Lucius and Bellatrix are pure-bloods, and Hermione is a muggle-born.
