What do you think about Neville being the one to destroy the last horcrux?

I read Deathly Hallows when it came out in 2007. At that time I found it very cheesy that Neville pulled Gryffindor's sword and cut Nagini's head.Now 2 years later and having improved my interpratation abilities, I found this very meaningful: Neville, the one who Voldemort decided posed no threat por choosing to kill Harry instead when he heard the prophecy, was the one who removed Voldemort's last string to immortality, proving again how Voldemort's arrogance blined him and eventually led to his fall. Whether Rowling did it on purpose or not, we cannot tell. What are your thoughts on this?
