I have just tried to refute another "Edward is hot" type fallacy. I've had enough, I'm ready to puke - pardon the language - in link if I see another one. In the foreseeable future, I shall either not bother with such fallacies but instead ignore and ridicule or point to this article. This applies to both sides because some Twilight fãs and some new Harry Potter fãs here are frequently inferring it.

I point to my anterior article: link for the introduction.
I shall here only point out Number Six:
Non sequitur.
What is a Non Sequitur and a fallacy: I shall again refer to oxford English Dictionary...

Harry and his friend entered the hotel in high spirits. Hermione, Ron, and Ginny were already there, and one look told them they had been very worried. Ginny glanced at Harry’s wide smile and the newcomer, and said, very icily, “Who is she?” to Harry.
Harry grinned even wider, and J K smiled. “This, Ginny, is the one and only J K Rowling!” He saw their looks of astonishment. “You know,” he added, “she wrote our books!”
“Oh,” said Ginny, sounding rather relieved. Ron laughed.
Hermione looked surprised, but knowing as to why he had brought J K.

Luna looked back and shouted, “EXPELLIARMUS!”
The Death Eater’s wand flew out of his hand.
“Nice shot!” Neville said, looking at her impressed. Luna beamed brightly, as the two continued to run. They both slowed as they neared a room filled with smoke. Neville ran in first and Luna followed close behind. They heard shouts coming from every direction.
“CRUCIO!” There was a scream of agony.
“STUPEFY!”
“AVADA KEDAVRA!”
The last spell seemed closer and both ducked at the same time. They heard a thud as a body hit the floor. Luna ran over there, despite the spells flying everywhere....

People are passionate about defending their books that they love. I know that and I’ve done it. What’s really disturbing is when the users of fanpop use this site to bring people down or just to openly hate.

Harry Potter and Twilight are going to be compared. No other two books have the same rabid following and they both have strong roots in the supernatural. I welcome debate and exchanging of opinions, when it’s friendly. Some of the comments I’ve seen on these forums could not be called friendly debate. It just makes me sick when I know that there are people out there that are willing...

I think cachorros are way better than gatos because they actually amor you mais than gatos do. The only reason why gatos amor you is that you feed them and that is it. cachorros are such emotional animais that if you are having a bad dia they will come over and snuggle up in your lap and with gatos you have to get up and walk over to them! Also you might say but some cachorros are aggressive and bark all the time that’s only because they have been treated badly, a science study actually proved that no dog is born bad it is the owner the only reason if a dog is born bad is if it has a mental health issue but...

Taking arms against Harry Potter, at this moment, is to emulate Hamlet taking arms against a sea of troubles. por opposing the sea, you won't end it. The Harry Potter epiphenomenon will go on, doubtless for some time, as J. R. R. Tolkien did, and then wane.

The official newspaper of our dominant counter-culture, The New York Times, has been startled por the Potter books into establishing a new policy for its not very literate book review. Rather than crowd out the Grishams, Clancys, Crichtons, Kings, and other vastly popular prose fictions on its fiction bestseller list, the Potter volumes will...
