And por that title, I mean this particular page of fanpop.
I have read both the Twilight series and the Harry Potter series, and while, out of the two, I am a Harry Potter fan, Twilight is not a wretched book.
However, Twilight is either seen in a negative or positive light on this page because it is being compared to Harry Potter. Compared to J.K. Rowling's series, Twilight pales. The grammar is far better, the language used is mais intelligent, the tone of the whole story is much mais positive than Twilight, and the plot of Harry Potter is generally mais intriguing.
But comparing Twilight to Harry Potter makes no sense. I understand that both were best sellers, but the only true connection I can see between the two is that Robert Pattinson played in both the Harry Potter filmes and the Twilight movies, and even that is not a strong connection.
To me, Twilight is one of those books you buy at an airport so you have something to read during the flight instead of some ghastly movie with Mathew McConaughey. It does not deserve all the attention it is getting, for it is a book about a girl who falls in amor with a vampire; a very over-used subject. It is not even the same species as Harry Potter, in an essence, so I think the two should stop being compared.
This is all an opinion. I do not think Twilight fãs are 'vapid, brainless little girls,' but I do think that they need to read a different book.
I don't know, maybe, Harry Potter?
