“Harry Potter is the End of an Era. Twilight is the End of an Error.”

At first glance, you would think this is just another oh-so-clever Anti-Twilight slogan, reiterated por the Twilight hating masses, but in reality, are these antis only slamming themselves?

First off, what Era is Harry Potter ending? It’s own? So in other words, “Harry Potter is the end of Harry Potter”.

I’m assuming this “Error” is meant to represent Twilight, correct? So in other words, much like the above, “Twilight is the end of Twilight”.

In conclusion, “Harry Potter is the End of Harry Potter. Twilight is the End of Twilight.”
^Is that really for or against anything?

Do to the lack of sense this holds, I’m going to guess I misinterpreted the whole thing.

That sounds plausible.

Since Harry potter isn’t ending itself, I suppose it’s seguro to say that Twilight isn’t either, so I guess Twilight really did end some sort of error. That’s a good thing, right? If an Error can’t be corrected, then it should at least be ended.

I guess we should all thank Twilight for ending an Error, but a new pergunta arises. What is this Error of which Twilight so nobly ended? Let’s restate the facts together.

*It’s already been concluded that Harry Potter ended the anterior Era…
*Twilight ended an Error…
*The first Harry Potter book was released on June 30, 1997…
*The anterior Era was ended on June 30, 1997…
*The first Twilight book was released on October 5, 2005…
*The Error was ended on October 5, 2005…
*The first Harry Potter book was released before the first Twilight book…
*The Era was ended before the Error was ended…
*Harry Potter ended an Era, but later, Twilight came around and ended an Error…

I hate to say it, but this slogan offers only one possibility… The End of an Era was an Error.

KateKicksAss Lol, this is great! And I disagree with the first slogan in general. Harry Potter ISN'T ending, and Twilight isn't an error.

londonsrock that made no sense. an era is "a period of time marked by distinctive character, events, etc." according to dicrtinary.com. when the first movie came out it was nov. 2001. 9/11 had just happened, the War in Afghanistan started that October. i think a lot of people were looking for a distraction to what was going on in the world and HP was it. the first book came out in June 1997, and the fourth book was already out by the time the first movie premiered so the people that loved the movie like me had material to read while waiting for the second one. for a lot of ppl harry potter was a companion in a decade of transition, change and growth. while i enjoy twilight's fluff i must admit it carries anti-feminist views. also, it puts too much emphasis in looks that makes the main character seem shallow and obtuse.

twilightlover73 What people mean by this statement is (not that I use it): Harry Potter has come to an end, it changed a lot of people's lives, people grew up through it, people had their whole childhood based on Harry Potter. When it ended, it was an end of an [b]ERA[/b] the era which was not Harry Potter, but the era which Harry Potter [b]CAUSED[/b]. People who use it obviously don't like twilight and think that it's crap, they think that it's an [b]ERROR[/b] for it to start in the first place. So when it ends, it is the end of an error, the end of a mistake, not of twilight, but what twilight [b]CAUSED[/b]. So yeah, you were wrong there. When they say that they don't mean "Harry Potter is the end of Harry Potter" or "Twilight is the end of Twilight" Anyways, I don't like this statement, and even though I don't like twilight anymore, I used to. So that's another reason for a person like me to show respect to the series, which is why I don't really like such phrases and disapprove of this one.

cassie-1-2-3 This article was meant to be a bit of satire. I know exactly what the phrase means. I do feel that it can be easily misunderstood, since it's not worded very well. It can be interpreted this way, but I always knew how it was INTENDED to be interpreted, hence the first sentence.

Sitting on Emily's sofá for the thousanth time in the last week, was surely a high light.
But the waiting for Jacob was not. He can take far too long sometimes, no doubt he does it on purpose, that way when he finally arrives, I'm almost boucing up and down.

I can tell he likes to see me like that, to see me happy, most defiantly for him.

This is what I think, about the crap they call the 'Twilight Saga'. A book based on an author's wet dreams and hopes.

Twilight- Who? WHO FALLS IN amor AFTER SEEING A PERSON THREE TIMES IN THEIR ENTIRE LIFE?! Plus, I'll summarize the entire book.

OK, so many Harry Potter/vampire fãs (like myself) will probably agree that Edward Cullen is not a real vampire. The only similarities that Edward and other vampiros have is the liking of human blood. I suppose Meyer was trying to be original, and I don't mean to offend anyone who does like the sparklepyres.
