Um, Twilight doesn't have mais fãs than Harry Potter. The Twilight fãs are just louder and mais obnoxious.

The Twilight fanbase is not higher. It's only because Twilight has been round for a shorter time than harry potter, so alot of people are declaring how wonderful they think Twilight is and everything. The fã base with HP is still huge, but because alot of the HP fãs don't make as much of a scene about it, people think that there are mais Twilight fãs in the world. I hope that made sense. :)

Nah, I know what you mean. But actually stastics show that there are mais Harry Potter than Twilight fans.
Harry Potter has sold millions mais books. Twilight hasn't.

Harry Potter actually has mais fãs than Twilight does, it's just that Twilight fãs tend to blog or go online mais than HP fans, which makes the Twilight fã base seem much bigger than it actually is. But, when you turn to book sales or movie ticket sale, HP always rolls in mais money than Twilight. For example, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the HP movie with the lowest income, it ranked as the 53rd movie with the highest gross in the U.S.A. of all time, but all the other HP filmes did better. Twilight on the other hand, ranked as the 104th on the same list.

Firstly, they don't. Harry Potter still has a far, far greater number of fans, and is much better known.
The only reason it seems so is that the peak of Harry Potter's popularity has past. But the fãs still exist.
Twilight is at its peak. It is what is popular among teenagers today, which is why it is seen more, why the fãs are mais prominent in society, etc. That doesn't mean there are mais fans.
But still, Harry Potter is in general much bigger than Twilight - mais copies sold, mais tickets sold, mais awareness, mais fans. And the books are much better anyway.(in my opinion, don't attack me).

Second, even if there were mais fans, that doesn't mean Twilight is better. Now which is the better book may be opinion, but I think it can be seen as quite agreeable that Harry Potter is better written - a richer plot, better thought out, makes sense, creates an entire new world. For this reason, many like Harry Potter more.
The people who prefer Twilight do so largely based upon their thinking that the characters are 'cooler' that Edward is mais attractive, that the romance is emphasised more. This is all opinion. It would neither be considered very valid in arguing that this is why Twilight is better. See what I mean?

Because right now, girls think that the only thing that matters in a book or a movie is hotness of the characters. But that doesn't mean Shitlight has a bigger fanbase because HP sold much mais copies...

What Mrs_Grint says is right and i think thats because Twilight is good for girls and boys and both genders can enjoy it. But i reckon Twilight is so popular because you do not have to think when you read it. There is no underlying message in the characters or the plot. It is simple and straightforward, it is not thought provoking and it doesn't make you pergunta your being or your beliefs as some authors can do.

When you say "Harry potter is the best film ever" that isn't a fact. That is purely a matter of opinion!

they are both good books and movies. SOMEONE said that twilight fãs are mais obnoxious, but i dont think so. i like both. oh, and just so you know, people are just mais excited about twilight because no one had really read the books before the movie came out. and once they did, they thought it was good.

Umm, u need to look at the box office sales/ book sales of harry potter vs twilight. Jk rowling has mais money than the queen of England. If u realy looked at the statistics, hp has mais fãs than twilight.

Is this some kind of joke? How closed minded can people be- Harry has soooo many mais fãs than twilight. Has any of the opening book nights, looked anything like when the Deathly Hallows came out. Also check CAT(Critical Analysis of Twilight) and learn from just one spot how many people amor Harry and how many hate the sparkly vampires. Also twilight fãs are loud and are always hyperventallaiting, so they need a blogging spot, but we are sooo much mais sophisticated, do you see us freking out, shaking like maniacs in our assento when a HP movie comes out...errr...NO! hahaha no one take this too personal, its just HP has mais fans, what can I say???

Agree with Renrae but also, fanpop isn't represantative of the whole world... As you can see, HP kicks bunda in every pick here but that doesn't mean HP deserves to win ALL the picks, it's just that HP is mais highly represented here than Twilight. It's the same thing for the Twilighters who are on Fanpop.

P.S. Harry Potter IS a better novel than Twilight, but that's just my opinion...

Because of the boum that the movie made and because the obsession fãs have for rob patt'z.
and also because of the idea of a human being in amor with a vamp,while in Hp the whole terminus it has a wider sense,not only killing voldermort,but saving the world,saving people,and making the world a better and peaceful place

I can't comment as to which has mais fans, but I believe that there are several reasons why Harry Potter would still be the better series:
Twilight appeals to the masses because it's quite easy to read. It's light, entertaining and caters to a lot of the themes directed at adolescents. However, if you compare who is a fã of each series, there is a huge difference. (No offense to any intelligent Twilight fans.) In my experience most Twilight fãs read less widely and less challenging books.
Many of them only like the series for hormonal reasons, as an embarrasing proportion of the series revolves around describing hot guys. (How many people hated New Moon, because there was no Edward?) As well, many people watch the filmes so that they can either drool over the male characters or make fun of the lousy script. (Even fãs of the book recognize how ridiculous it was.)
Harry Potter, I find, is read por a much mais diverse group of people: children and adults, male and female etc., and I beilieve that it will last much longer. It is already tought in universities and the writting and story are genius.
While Twilight has a relatively simple story, set in a pre-existing town; Harry Potter has an incredibly complex plot that is both unique (although it may be one of the better 'teen vampire' books, Twilight is still almost identical to many other series), and draws on a great deal of mythology and literature. (It is clear that the series is very well researched, while the mythology in Twilight is not.)
There is significantly mais in the Harry Potter series: fantasy, adventure, mystery, and some realistic romance. It covers a lot mais different topics, mais time, mais detail, mais character development and therefore requires mais thought.
Last of all there are the messages given por the books. Harry Potter shows life and the magical situations in the book the way they are. Although it has some very admirable characters, it is honest about showing their flaws. For these characters, life is difficult but worth it. Rowling offers opinions on prejudice, courage, compassion and standing up for what you believe in.
Twilight, I'm afraid to say, is quite unrealistic in a bad way. We see Edwards struggle, but it is not entirely believable, because we know that he will stay with Bella in the end. The books glorify an unhealthy, unrealistic relationship and, although Meyer hardly ever describes her characters in a bad light (they are designed to be perfect, so that we can gamo, fawn over them), their actions are never as heroic or as honest as those that we see from the mais flawed, but mais believable characters in Harry Potter.

Twilight is good at first sight, if you read it a couple of times you think its amazing and you fall in amor with one of the characters. But when you try to find an underlying message or theme or really anything at all, you can't find one. Most people don't even bother to look that far.

Second, Harry Potter has OUTSOLD Twilight.

Third, even if Twilight had outsold Harry Potter, it doesn't mean it's a better book.

Like, right now, glee has the most songs total on the Billboard charts. It doesn't mean they're GOOD. I mean, they're all pretty much not-so-great covers. (I kind of like Glee, though. I'm just saying).

Just because something's popular, doesn't mean it's good. Especially nowadays.
