harry potter contra crepúsculo Pergunta

debate Challenge

This is a challenge for both HP and Twilight fans.

The challenge is as follows:

Given the statement, "Bella cisne is bland and has no personality",the challenge is, if you're a Twilight fan, defend [agree with]that statement, and if you're a Harry Potter fan, oppose that statement[defending Bella], using your best debating skills.

Remember, this is a debate challenge, the point is that your argument should NOT reflect your personal views!

Considering that this a book being told through her own eyes, it's hard to believe that it'd come off as being bland, and yet, Bella cisne seems to get lost in translation. It'd be understandable, perhaps, if in a third-person persective Bella came off with little personality, maybe she's just shy or not all that interested in those around her. However, one would think that being told through her own perspective, Bella would come off as mais of a dynamic character, not so. Alot of Bella's perceived personality traits are demonstrated through telling rather than showing. She talks about being an "old soul" and yet as soon as she arrives in Forks she becomes a rather cliche love-sick teenager. She's clumsy, not really a personality trait.
We never really get deep into what makes Bella, Bella and that's really what makes her come off as being bland. Throughout the entire series her sole focus is on Edward, occasionally drifting to the likes of Jacob and her father, but only in extreme circumstances, like when their lives are at risk. There's just no real insight into what makes Bella tick other than Edward, take him away and what do you get? Several months of blank pages.

Probably not the expert debate you were looking for but I answered anyways.

Bella could have put mais effort into being a mais typical teenager, since she didn't particularly enjoy being different, or on a different brain wave frequency, as she put it. If she wanted to be mais accepted por everyone, she should have been mais outgoing and interact with mais people instead of staying at início leitura and studying, which is honestly not very entertaining or personality defining to someone not residing in your own mind.

Not making a huge effort to stand out will project itself in that precise way. If you present yourself as bland (not worthy of attention), you will be seen as bland. If you don't express your personality, it will look as if you have none to express.

I disagree.
I think Bella is actually very interesting and a had a complex personality, which is merely hidden under all the layers of shit she has to go through each day. I mean, her dad needs as much care as your average four-year-old, her friends are such a randomly put-together lot that she's continuously having to keep the peace between them, not to mention the fact that her intelligence is above average, so you need to factor in all the pressure and such that stem from that.
And let's not forget the fact that though she thought she'd finally found happiness with Edward, her old childhood friend just had to reappear and develop a very impractical crush on her.
So it's fair to say that she has a lot on her hands at the moment. (Did I mention her boyfriend sparkles? Imagine the difficulties that must pose in public).

This all being said, I'm certain that if Bella were allowed to let her hair down every once in a while, the bright, cheery personality we all know to be there would show itself some more, make its presence known to others than just myself.

(is that what you were looking for?)

Kind of, I was basically just trying to see if people could see both sides of the issue, and also just practice debating, :P

Shes boring, hardly has personality, and is not really that funny. In the filmes she is always blinking to much and it really gets annoying. She could do way better at playing the roll of a teenager and maybe add some spunk to the caracter. Anyone else could have done a waayyy better job.
