harry potter contra crepúsculo Pergunta

What would you think if someone else wrote sequels to Harry Potter or Twilight?

I've noticed in iconic books like Pride and Prejudice, fãs of the book sometimes write whole books with the same characters. It's like fan-fiction, but actually published.

HP fans: WOuld you read a book por someone else about Harry's kids, or about Harry and the gang's life after Hogwarts?

Twilight fans: Would you read a book not por Stephenie Meyer about Bella and Edward, or Renesmee?

I would defenatly read them if J.K Rowling authorized them, but I would never enjoy them as much knowing that that was not the official event, that might not have been what really happened. Plus Jo's writnig is too unique to be copied.

No, not even if JKR herself wrote it. I amor HP very much, but to explain why I say this, let me borrow the words f Bill Watterson:
"When you overcommercialize something, eventually, the public gets slightly bored with the series, and, eventually, forgets it altogether."
I couldn't have said it better. HP is a great book, but if we keep making coffee mugs, "wands," and book sequels some people are going to get bored with it.
Twilight haters, recall when you discovered SM was composição literária the Twilight books from Edward's POV. One HP fã said: "Why rewrite it? It's terrible already." So, if the sequels were to come out, a HP hater might respond: "Why write more? It's terrible enough already."
Note: Not all fãs will act like this, but a few will.
So, altogether, I don't think any mais sequels should be written, for either book, especially if it is por the same author.
Thank you, that will be all.

*clicks best answer- button* you are right. If there was a new HP book coming out every ano it would become meaningless, just like every other mass-product.

Cheap way to get money and fame. So no way. I would even have disrespect for someone trying to rip off Stephanie Meyer. If you create a piece of work its yours. That is mostly why I despise remakes. I go to some, but they 99.9% of the time fail. Same with books it wouldnt feel the same.

No, I wouldn't. No one can own the Harry Potter world like JKR did... so, no.

If an HP fã did it right, then HP fanfiction could actually be pulled off. Honestly, I think anyone could write better than Meyer, just saying...Don't mean to be offensive...

It depends. The Wizard of Oz series has over forty books and was written por twenty-seven different authors. Those books are amazing and they're, in no way, commercialized. Well, I guess you could make a case for Wicked, but that's beside the point.

If the books were about Harry or the trio, or the new generation, no. Harry has come full círculo and I don't think you can develop his character anymore. The same goes for the Trio. Besides, any plot that is tried is just going to seem like a watered down version of Harry Potter. Even if JK wrote books about Harry and the trio or their kids, I don't think I'd read them.

But if it was a story about the Marauder era, or the founders then it might be really, really cool. A lot of JKs fãs came away with different interpretations of her characters than she intended (*cough*Dracoand Severus*cough). Seeing those crucial characters from a fã would be interesting.

Or even do a story about Dumbledore and his life (and what he was doing during those seven books).
