Clever_Brunette Well Written Article. I am not a fan of Harry and Ginny. I always believed as the hero of a story, he should have someone whom could connnect well with his character. Someone like Hermione. With Ginny,it wasn't that I didn't like her...more so that I never really understood her. It felt as if the romance came out of thin air.

Hraesvelg Really good article. Even during my Draco/Hermione days, I never shipped Harry with Ginny. I felt zero connection between the two in the books. ZERO. Suddenly we find out she understand him best?! Do two don't even talk! I was very disappointed with the portrayal of Ginny in HBP. People say that a lot of girls are like that: shy and reserved as kids and outgoing as teenagers. Fine. But, why didn't Harry and Ginny have one decent conversation before HBP? Harry doesn't even notice that she's the most popular girl in school. Their relationship feels unnatural and forced to me.

TheFey21 agree, except that ginny is not like lily, appearance yes (and that's creepy considering harry is attracted to her look) but not much in character. many argued that the way ginny stood up for luna in HBP was very lily-like, and she got mad when people calls luna loony but let's check the facts..who, out of all the character, introduces us to the nickname 'loony lovegood'? can't remember, i give you a clue : she's got red hair! that's right, the defender of the bullied, ginny weasley. yes, they were not friends yet but still that doesn't mean you can be mean to people. argh, she irritates the heck out of me. she's always and forever will be the ANNOYING FANGIRL in my eyes. ah..yeah..the end. lol.

MasterZezzo I have to say that I agree that the Ginny/Harry thing SEEMED pretty spontaneous and out of nowhere. But you have to understand that it's an off-screen sort of relationship. Harry isn't the sort of character that has a "perfect match." He's too complicated. The reason why Harry an Hermione doesn't work, is because both their personalities are too defined. They know each other too well, they're too familiar with each other. Sounds weird, I know, but still Now, it's safe to assume that Harry spent more time with the Weasleys than what is shown in the book or the movies. Whether it be him staying for the summer at the Burrow or Grimmauld place, or wahtever. Ginny isn't a well defined character. All we know of her is that she has six older brothers and is good at Quidditch. The only thing this really tells us is that she's a tough girl. There are so many spaces in her personality to be filled in. Ginny is a very malleable character, so it allows the fans to turn her into something that we think Harry would like. And she's a bad person because she dated other people? No, Hermione might have told her to keep off of Harry and he might notice her more, but that doesn't mean that she didn't put any serious investment into the relationships she did have. Also, I don't think Harry and Hermione work well together. Hermione is a VERY narrow-mined individual. She's not stupid by any means, but she's slow to embrace new ideas, and when something outside her knowledge appears, she becomes hostile or shows great fear of it. I don't feel that this is something Harry can deal with in a relationship. Anyway, I know this is sort of... dead, but I had to reply lol
