The return of Grey’s Anatomy is still weeks off, but TV Guide sleuth Michael Ausiello is already getting the scoop on what we can expect when our favorito show ends its long, long writers’ strike-induced absence on Thursday, April 24.

If you want some hints on the future of Mer-Der and the character that was supposed to be played por Josh Jackson, follow the jump and read on!

Ausiello: Not in the first episode back, which flashes progressivo, para a frente a few months and, per one source, picks up at the end of Derek and Rose’s latest date. In that same episode, I’m hearing about a contest to determine who Seattle Grace’s best doc is.

merderluver i also heard that, and i also heard this form the ABC message board( Remember: This is the first, unrevised draft. So it is probably subject to change.) I know a lot of you are concerned about MerDer, so that is where I will start off. The first trace of MerDer in the opening sequence is of Derek in the OR. He is finishing up surgery. The camera pans to Rose in the gallery. She's smiling "obnoxiously" at him. LOL! Then the camera pans behind her to Meredith who is also watching the surgery in the gallery. Derek looks up and it seems as if he is looking at Rose for a second, until Derek and meredith's eyes lock. Rose realizes he isn't looking at her and turns around and sees Meredith but shrugs it off. Meredith realizes what she's doing and runs out of the gallery. It says several weeks have passed. So I'm assuming that during that time Derek and Rose have been dating and Derek and Mer haven't had much contact. i understand that this is "subject to change" but they seem total opposites. i really don't know what to believe any more i guess we'll all have to wait untill the next show airs!

The executive producer’s words may offer welcome relief for fans exhausted by months - years - of Meredith and Derek getting closer, yet always driven apart. “That is something that time off [during the writers’ strike] really gave me some perspective on — whether or not we could actually do it, how we could do it, that it would be amazing to watch how that works,” Rhimes said. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Shonda Rhimes said she had dinner with Dempsey and “we talked about all of this. As actors, they’re very invested in Derek and Meredith.
