I JOLTED UP AT MY NEW surroundings. I remembered that I was in RiverClan now. I can no longer talk to my best friend, Fireheart, again. It was still dark outside, from the willow leaves. It was also drizzily outside. I decided to go to the nursery.
"Graystripe," It was Mistyfoot. She was in the nursery, with two kits snuggling against her belly. "What are you doing up this early?"
"I just had a bad dream," I whispered, hoping not to wake up the kits.
"Silverstream again?" Mistyfoot's eyes were now clouded with grief for her lost friend.
"I miss her," I sighed.
Mistyfoot then meowed, "I miss her, too, Graystripe, but you need to learn that she's gone."
*She's not gone,* I thought, *She's in my heart.*
"Anyway," I changed the subject, "how are the kits?"
"Featherkit is growing at her own pace. She's beautiful, Graystripe."
"Just like her mother." My mind trailed in thought.
She continued. "Stormkit is a strong tom. He will be a good warrior."
"Thank you, Mistyfoot. For everything."
I started to leave the nursery. I didn't know where I was going, but I needed to get away. I decided to go see Silverstream.

I made it to Sunningrocks, where there was the border between Riverclan and ThunderClan, my old home. I went to a mound of dirt that was along the shore. I pressed my nose against the ground.
"Hi, Silverstream," I whispered. It had been a moon since I game to her grave. I was so choked with emotion, that I could barely speak. "I miss you so much. None of this should have happened."
I was cut off por Silverstream's lovely voice. Everytime I came here, it was like she would come down from StarClan and talk to me. Her faded pelt turned into the shape of my lost beloved.
"What are you saying, Graystripe?" she meowed sternly. "You loved me either way, even if this had happened."
"I'm sorry," I pleaded. "It's been two moons since you left to cadastrar-se StarClan. I think I could never forget losing you."
Silverstream pressed her faded muzzle against mine. "I'm sorry it's so soon, but I must go back to StarClan. I amor you."
Silverstream started to fade again, and I tried to make her stay longer. But, she was gone again. It was pouring now, as I stared from Sunningrocks to the shore. I felt tears stream through my eyes. I was right. I will never forget losing my mate. I remember the dia we first met. I stared to a spot on the river with misty eyes. It was about late leaf-fall, early leaf-bare. I will never forget it. ...
