well my opinion of why it's funny & popular is because if you think about it how many Korean singers do you know that are actually famous in the US? And along with that there isn't really any other video like it. PSY's Gangnam Style video has a billion views on YouTube (this I have checked) He has become "popular" because he did what no one else tried
