Another cast member joins Maisie Williams on the set of Game of Thrones 

set photos but there’s even more in store, as it turns out!

first images of Maisie Williams on the set of season 7 in Northern Ireland, in a brand new costume. The photos were snapped on September 23rd by PAP4U, as the actress came out of a hair and makeup trailer by Linen Mill Studios in Corbet, Northern Ireland.

We’ve now learned that there are a few more photos from the shoot, thanks to our friends at the Game of Thrones Fan-Archive, who passed them on to us. With the new images, including photos of another cast member, we’ve confirmed more information. We’re going to place this all below a cut for SPOILER reasons!

We’ve now confirmed that the photos of Maisie Williams and Bella Ramsey were all taken on the same day (Sept. 23), around the same time. To complete the overall picture, it was previously established that the photos of Ramsey (who plays Lyanna Mormont) were snapped on the same day as the ones of Kit Harington, Gwendoline Christie, Megan Parkinson and other members of the cast.

In the newest photos, we see Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays Bran Stark on

. He was also at the studios that day, and was in the makeup trailer with Maisie. It does not look like he was filming with her at that moment, however; it looks like he was leaving the set, while she was still in costume and makeup. We can’t rule out the possibility that they may have filmed together earlier, but it’s unknown at this point.

As you can see, by comparing photos, Ramsey was indeed at the trailer when Williams and Hempstead Wright were, and the two actresses are wearing similarly styled northern costumes. At this point, it’s very likely Arya Stark and Lyanna Mormont’s paths are crossing in season 7. Kit Harington was also on set that afternoon, meaning we are likely to see another emotional Stark reunion next year.

They could be filming scenes from any episode, so its going to be hard to tell if this is early or late in the season. But Maisie does look like shes back in Winterfell by the way shes dressed, unless a more learned member here has the scoop on her outfit and what it could mean.

I wonder how far into the season this scene will come. Of course with Varys’ teleportation skills making the (lack of) travel precedent explicit Arya could make it North/Northern guys could make it south early in the season, but this has implications for people like the Brotherhood/Melisandre/Hound.

A scene with Arya and Lyanna would be awesome.

This reunion will be so much better than the Jon and Sansa reunion. For obvious reasons.

A full Stark reunion would be amazing. I wouldn’t discount the possibility, considering that Arya is wearing Stark leather armor, not unlike what Robb wore under his heavy armor and wolf furs, and that Bran was heading south of the Wall last time we saw him. Also, there’s the fact that we only have two short seasons left until the story ends.

I don’t see why Bran will be separated from Jon and Sansa for another season. Indeed, I can see Bran making it to Winterfell in 7×01. If he didn’t make it last season is because they wanted to show R+L=J in 6×10, but now I’m sure that we will have a happy Stark moment at the beginning. Also, if they want to build up a conflicy between Sansa and Jon… well, Bran suits well.

I was wondering if Arya would chose between King’s Landing and vengeance and Winterfell and family. Maybe we have an answer here. 🙂 After all, I looks like Jaime or Tyrion will be the responsibles for Cerseii’s death.

Holy smokes! I don’t care when the reunion will be during the season, just make it happen!!

I love pre-season spoilers, and appreciate when fans catch photos of the actors around Belfast or even around the set. The prospect of another Stark reunion is really exciting, especially with Jon, Arya and maybe Bran so close together in filming. It does feel creepy to me that someone is surreptitiously snapping pictures of the actors in their makeup chairs, though. The actors should be able to trust the people around them, so I am torn about having access to those particular photos.

As a big fan of Arya (my favourite character) and Maisie (my favourite actor) in the series, I’m excited but nervous – returning to Winterfell would put Arya back in the main storyline (good!) but closer to the main threat (bad!). And given that the Arya storyline as envisaged in George’s original outline seems to have been split into Arya’s and Sansa’s storylines, I remain nervous that one of them won’t make it to Season 8. I hope I am wrong about that!

1) Arya makes her way to the north, instead of the Riverlands. This is more likely in the latter half of the season, if anything.

or 2) winter’s arrival means more locations being filmed in the area that the North is normally shot in.

Of course they could all be trolling. Very elaborately. 😂

I will literally cry for a week if we have a full stark reunion.

While I would LOVE to see Jon/Arya reunited (FINALLY!), I am not holding onto that hope early in the season. Maybe these set shots are the actors simply coming together to shoot promotional photos for the new season?

I am also in the Bran vision camp. It makes the most sense to me. If this is episode 1 or 2, they would need a ton of exposition IMO.

OMG, this is like Christmas!! Arya! Bran! Jon! If this is not a Stark kids reunited-and-kicking-ass scene then I agree with the person who said it could be a Bran vision. But I really hope it’s not. Seeing Arya dressed in Northern gear, possibly in the vicinity of Jon, gives me so many feels. I do wonder where Needle’s at.

It feels like it almost has to be a scene where all of them from these photos are together. There aren’t any other characters that would be separate from Jon’s crew shown yet, such as Mel, the BwoB, anyone else that’s in The Riverlands or beyond. It’s possible that Arya could be in a scene with just Brienne and Pod, but those two were both shown together with the others. Would they film two separate scenes at the exact same time in the same location? Would Arya be dressed like that for a scene all by herself? It doesn’t seem likely.

I don’t think this would be a Bran vision. I say that mainly because it would be a future vision with Arya dressed like she is… With so few episodes remaining does it make sense to do a future vision when they’ll get to that point in just a handful of episodes? Well, even if it is something like that, if they’re all together that means there’s a reunion for us at some point anyway. 🙂

Yeah, I think it’s one of Bran’s visions. As soon as I saw that Isaac was there, I thought… hmm, Bran-future-vision. Knowing that he’s there for a bit and all of these players are all of a sudden together so soon considering where they were at the end of last season it makes sense that they’re filming a future-vision. If that is the case, I personally don’t want to see Jon and Arya interacting AT ALL in the vision. I don’t want to see Kit and Maisie together on screen until it’s present-time and we see their reunion.

If that’s the case, the scene is from 702. Arya and Bran are already in Winterfell. In 701 Bran would likely be in Castle Black.

I mean, it should/could be a tear-streamer for hours if they do it right and far surpass the feels of the Jon/Sansa scene. They’d ruin it if they show a future vision of them together prior to them actually being reunited.

it wasn’t teleportation, it is the way the show has to show the fans that time has past between a scene and the other. Many shows use the “three moth later” or “a year later” resource but it’s very cheap tbh, many others use the change of the seasons, but they cant use it with GOT because the seasons last years on the show. So they use characters in very different places to show you that time has past. Like, Dany’s ship ornamentations and banners werent built in two days, and Olenna didnt find out about the death of her family in the middle of her trip to Highgarden and then made a detour to Dorne, she has the time to arrive to Highgarden, get some letter asking her a meeting at Dorne and then she travel there.

Future vision is indeed very likely. Upon seeing all the pics, I had sugar-plums dancing in my head till realising that it just seemed too much, too easy, too soon. Yes, now that there are so few episodes left, Littlefinger-patented jetpacks are probably owned by all main characters, but where’s the excitement if Bran and Arya and whoever actually come waltzing into Winterfell in episode 1 or 2? No, they both will probably experience another lap on their character journey before finally reaching home. Still, a Bran-vision usually is accurate, and the presence of Lyanna Mormont shows that he’s not just dreaming of his siblings. Such a vision gives us hope, if nothing else. Perhaps it portends that they will all be present when Bran finally reveals Jon’s true parentage. The emotional interaction when that bombshell is dropped would be fantastic. Perhaps that’s when they’ll hear that the White Walkers have breached the Wall. Or such a vision could portend that they will finally be gathered for JOn’s wartime nuptials to Daenerys. Anyway, this is all very exciting and one hopes it means the Pack really will come together and stay together.

They can still do a future-vision where Arya fights, interacts with others (Brienne, Pod, Tormund, Lyanna, Davos) or just one of them, or maybe doesn’t even have dialogue and just doesn’t interact or is near Jon. Think of how short some of the Bran’s other visions were. She could have only one line, it still could take a day or two of filming.

If you mean that knowing that Arya/Jon do reunite would take that away, I don’t know… maybe. But if we don’t see them together and we don’t see the outcome of perhaps a battle, who’s to say that they don’t die before seeing each other?

Exactly. I don’t understand why people still don’t get that. This show is not linear in terms of one scene following the other is the next hour, next day. And it’s very clear if you pay attention to the dialogue, the direction, etc.

Please please let there be a scene with Lyanna Mormont and Arya saying tag team put-downs at some poor schmuck.

What? What from George’s original storyline has been split to Sansa? Besides marrying a different Lannister (Tyrion instead of Joffrey) there is nothing similar to OG!Arya.

D&D scrapped Sansa’s book plot in the Vale so they can have a rape scene to film. By taking a secondary character’s storyline, without any of the connection with Jon’s story in the NW, Sansa logically is closer to the Wall. While Arya is not even in Westeros. Logistically logical.

Other that, there is literally nothing in OG!Arya plot given to Sansa. There is nothing complex when there is nothing to even point to. Tyrion didn’t even have feelings for Sansa like he did in the OG outline for Arya.

In the books, George created an interesting dynamic with Jon/”Arya”/Ramsay. The tension and torment Jon goes through to get Arya back is clear in the books. He goes to War for Arya.

A lot of suggestions that this could be a Bran vision! I don’t think so. This is real. Arya and Bran will be back in Winterfell early next season. Arya was already at the Twins in ep 10 of last season and Bran was already at the Wall. It won’t really take them long to reach Winterfell. With only 7 episodes the show is not gonna waste time showing them traveling.

I am, however, concerned in how they will handle it once they are reunited. I would hate for any of them to take a backseat or turn into a secondary character simply because they are all together. IMO all four of them are main characters (along with Daenerys and Tyrion) and they should continue to have their own personal story.

I agree. I hope this means longer screentime for Winterfell. Otherwise it won’t be possible to do all of them justice. Poor Bran will likely suffer the most again in terms of screentime.

I think Ygritte might have gotten the love interest part from the original story outline. Also, Meera has the part of Bran’s protector North of the Wall instead of Arya. I don’t see any of Arya’s current book story in the outline except for her weapon.

I don’t see how it wouldn’t. Arya and Bran have both had their own dedicated screentime per season (meager as it has been in Bran’s case). There’s no reason to think that screentime would suddenly go elsewhere, particularly since the cast overall has continued to shrink.

Though how all these characters are going to be juggled, well, that’s certainly an open question. How does Bran being around not squash any sort of Northern political storyline, for instance, both because of his powers, the fact that he’s ahead of Sansa too, and that he and Sansa don’t have a strained relationship for Baelish to play on?

With the added factor that Bran knows he cannot continue the Stark line, maybe he will not be too interested in being the Lord of Winterfell. I am just speculating here.

I definitely see Bran giving up his claim but I wonder if the Northern lords would agree. Considering they’re not exactly loyal, could they cast aside Ned Stark’s bastard and daughter when his trueborn son suddenly reappears? However the Northern lords react, I agree Bran’s presence should at least put a stop to Littlefinger’s scheming. That’s why I hope he’s back in Winterfell by 7×03, at the latest.

I’m not using the outline to predict anything. I was refuting an oft repeated lie about Arya’s storyline being given to Sansa by Sansa fans.

What GRRM does in the books is more believable than what he wrote in the outline – which he said he was not referencing anymore.

I’m using the books to predict what D&D *might* do. We see what they took and disregarded and it is very illuminating.

GRRM has said as recently as THIS year that he is keeping his original ending of the series. Which pre-dates the Outline by several years. D&D said they will meet GRRM at the same ending points.

E.g. D&D cut out Rob’s Will but GRRM’s said it’s important. So how do d&d handle the ramifications of cutting the Will? They have Sansa sit mute at the table while the Northern Lords crown a Snow as King. Because they know in the books, Robb’s Will disinherits Sansa and gives Jon the Stark name and therefore makes him heir to the North. Who is watching Sansa intently in that scene? LF. He fails in the show just like he’ll fail in the books.

Note: At Robb’s sealing of his Will he names his dead siblings and never mentions Arya. Why? Lady Stoneheart is leading the Brotherhood and what does she make them do? Move their HQ from the Hollow Hill to the Saltpans. Why? It was the last place Arya Stark was seen. She has the Brotherhood actively looking for Arya. LS is looking at children in orphanages in the hopes of finding her daughter. She diverts Brienne from finding Sansa (even though ironically Brienne’s trail has her on Arya’s path) and going after Jaime instead. Lady Stoneheart interrogates her captors asking them if they’ve seen a girl fitting Arya’s description.

Lady Stoneheart has Robb’s crown in her lap and looking for a Stark that can wear it.

I don’t think we know that yet. If I remember correctly he directed the first 2 episodes of season 6. So maybe that where the confusion is coming from?

The pictures of Maisie, Isaac, and Bella seem to have been taken at different times of the (same) day than the ones of Kit, Gwen, Liam, Aidan, etc. There were more makeup/hair personnel in the trailer for the Kit pictures than there were for the Maisie pictures. And some items inside the trailer in the Kit set of pics are no longer in the trailer in the Maisie set of pics. But the lady with the polka dot shirt and the bearded man in the blue hooded were present throughout that day.

What does this mean storyline-wise? I have no idea, except that I have too much time on my hands and it must have been a hectic and long day on set on September 23.

Ok, so unless we get photos or sightings of the actors on the same set from different days (eg Maisie on the Winterfell set this week), it’s very likely a vision.

Are we sure Bran knows Jon is as Winterfell? I’d assume they think he’s at the Wall unless Bran “saw” it. He doesn’t know their home has been taken back and Jon rules the north. AMAZING when they find out. I want to see Arya and Bran’s faces!

Bran knows pretty much everything at this stage… he’s had one huge download last season remember.

Which means if Bran is at WF… LF ain’t lasting to the end of the season, and the Northern storyline will not consist merely of the LF/Sansa/Jon triangle that folks here wrongly presumed.

So, previously I had thought that we would see Bran at Castle Black on the south side of the Wall in 701, with him arriving in Winterfell at the end of 702 or the start of 703. With the possibilities arising from these pictures as a whole, I would guess at:

*Brienne and Pod arriving at Winterfell before 701; they were last seen leaving Riverrun at the end of 608 by boat. It isn’t impossible that they could have passed the Twins and even reached the North by 610 (though obviously not as far as Winterfell); Jon mentioned in 609 that they had received Brienne’s raven advising that the Blackfish wouldn’t be able to help them, although we don’t know exactly how long before that scene they received the message. If Brienne and Pod are established as already being back at the start of 701, then that means we don’t have to bother with the reunion scene.

*We could have Arya arrive at Winterfell in 701. She was last seen at the Twins in 610, and the Twins is in the northern part of the Riverlands, not

far from the Neck. Arya arriving home perhaps at the end of 701 would give us a good reunion to end the episode, and at the same time (given how far Varys travels in 610) would not preclude an Arya/Melisandre scene at the start of 701 (maybe in or around the Neck?).

*With Bran, I still stick to the idea that we will see him at Castle Black on the south side of the Wall in 701. And a potential arrival at Winterfell near the beginning of 702 could perhaps give us, in that episode, Jon’s euphoria at being reunited with his family, only for Bran to end the episode by telling him that they aren’t actually as closely related as he thinks they are.

Bran has still to learn to control his powers, and I think Jon will have him concentrating on the White Walkers rather than the political situation. I do agree that Bran renouncing his claim to Winterfell is a probability; he is the Three-Eyed Raven now, and that trumps a lordship – and even a kingship – plus, as has been pointed out, Jon can carry on the line in a way that Bran cannot. And I think that Bran would recognize that they need a martial figure like Jon, rather than a mystical one like him, to lead forces into battle against the Night King.

It is still possible to have a political arc with conflict in the north with Bran and Arya both returning to Winterfell in the first couple of episodes (if indeed we are correct). For starters, it would add a further dimension to Sansa/LF v Jon if Arya were also on Jon’s side. There is also the potential for Sansa to be on one side and the remainder of her family on the other. If Bran does renounce his claim to Winterfell, then that would really put Sansa as the alternative ruler to Jon in a way that wasn’t really possible while Bran was simply missing.

One thing I am really looking forward to is the dynamics of these characters gathering at Winterfell. Arya and Brienne didn’t exactly get off on the right foot after Sandor realized that her sword and armor were bought with Lannister gold; Brienne is suspicious of both Davos and Tormund; the Northern lords won’t take to the free folk overnight; Jon doesn’t trust LF; Bronze Yohn (along with, I am guessing, much of the Vale knights) doesn’t trust LF; LF clearly wants to de-throne Jon……….and Jon has to try and bring these disparate groups together into some sort of coalition to fight the White Walkers.

With the cast reductions from season six and the coming together of remaining cast members, I am guessing that although we have fewer episodes, there will be more time in each episode devoted to the remaining characters. No more five minutes with Daenerys or five minutes with Jon, for example. Scenes will be longer, or we will visit locations more than once in an episode.

But.. But.. Who will be more badass? Too much to handle!

Isn’t anyone afraid after that for Maisie’s and Sophie’s interviews? They both seemed very sad for the new season, and Maisie was like “Yes,if i distinct myself from the story, it’s great storytelling”.

So what the Starks meet so early only to get seperating again, or there is another Stark bloodbath?

That doesn’t have any sense, we all know Bran will see the tourney of harrenhal (and finally, Rhaegar). So, he can’t just go to Winterfell in the first episode. Also, he can’t walk, meera has to help him. And she’s not strong as hodor. Episode 3 would be fine. If he ever actually goes there. Maybe now he just wargs everyone and everything to communicate.

Based on the fact that S7 has only 7 eps and S8 has only 6 ep., I think we are going to see the storyline flying by at a pretty jet-propelled clip. That being said, I do think we will see more “time has passed” between scenes. My biggest hope, as I said in another thread, is that we do get a Stark family reunion of surviving family. They’ve been through so much. I realize it might not happen, but a girl can hope.

More than just potential; a pretty good chance, actually. You know – so they can kill off the lone wolf and have the pack survive.

Because heaven forbid anyone compromised their Starkness and distanced themselves from the quintessential hero qualities we’ve seen ultimately win out (against all odds and reason) in a million different infantile fairy tales.

Seriously, would it kill the industry to give us a lead character that doesn’t acquiesce to the moral standards of other, more traditional heroes in the story yet isn’t punished for it?

It’s why I want Sansa to get the hell out of that black-and-white northern panderfest of a plot asap.

I doubt a reunion happens but if it did, it will bring a knight to tears.

It’s obvious Bran knows everything, from Jon’s parentage to Littlefinger’s betrayals, and imo he’ll eventually tell his siblings. I don’t believe he’ll appear early in the season, however, as he knows too much, brings too much with him.

Bran’s reunion with his siblings should end any Stark conflict, and it should also make it possible for the Walkers to get past the Wall. That’s a lousy place to start a penultimate season, but it’s a good place to end it. I doubt that we see him with his family until episode 5, at least.

She teased that prior to season 6 about the trailer when it was released, well before she had any idea about season 7.

Eh, I think it’s awful easy for book readers to say we don’t need any R+L flashbacks, but I think that show-only viewers might need a little bit more handholding, and the kidnap/rape vs love/secret wedding controversy is worthy of a bit of attention for everyone … it makes a huge difference as to who the true Targaryen heir is.

They could do it as a montage, like when Bran warged his way through the woods before Benjen saved their asses. Something that lasted like 10 minutes, tops, but again, I think we shouldn’t underestimate the value of this for the show-only crowd.

I have just recently read AGOT again and I noticed Littlefinger knows abit about the FM and how much they cost.

Her new outfit looks very Northern/Starkish to me. It resembles the outfits worn by Robb in the first seasons and later by Jon when he first decided he was done with the Watch. I believe Ned also worn a similar colored outfit.

For what it’s worth, back in Braavos, when Arya went to arrange passage on a Westerosi ship, she was wearing something like a brown, masculine jerkin then too. Perhaps she was already identifying with home, but I suspect that it was to call attention to herself so the Waif would come after her when she was (sort of) ready. But these photos show her in full Northern garb, very like what Lyanna, Jon, and Ned had worn.

The way these Northern shots have been dribbled out over several days, very tantalisingly, makes me wonder if they were taken surreptitiously or by a photographer working with/for HBO. Who knows?

My point is it makes no difference what colour they are though, as it has zero bearing on anything in the show. Arya has stated that’s she’s going home, she’s at the Twins in ep10 and Maisie has been snapped with actors who are all in the North. There’s nothing to support the fact she’d be in the south at all.

Either she just forgot to take them out (highly likely) or she’ll take them out when the cameras are ready to roll, hence the tissue in her hand (pretty likely). Nothing suspicious going on there, all fairly rational explanations 😉

Yeah, I’m not hung up on it either, just responding to the color comment and how it is the same as those the Stark men wore. While it is a good possibility it doesn’t prove she’s back with the others.

Regardless of where she got it or if all these photos do mean she’s in The North, I like that she’s wearing it. We’ve mostly just seen her wearing rags and various cloth outfits other than occasional dresses so far. It’s also an indication that she’s going to continue to be a doer as we expect and not an indoors type gal like her sister. 😉

Good point! I am sure there will be at least an episode for Bran to go through the wall and travel. Where Arya’s is different she didn’t have a big wall in her way and could have easily traveled for an episode. I see Arya making it to Winterfell before Bran. if both are headed there. I know distances don’t agree with me but I think having a scene with Bran at the wall once more is necessary which will slow his arrival to Winterfell in season 7, should he be going there.

It’s the unused flipside of the doors at the back of the Riverrun set.

When Jaime and the Blackfish had their meeting you can see those doors inside Riverrun.

They just haven’t been properly finished or painted on both sides because they were never shooting from the other side.

Where do you see any text on what script? I just see some blank pages.

Why is the rest of the door not stained and painted like the other side? Why is there no set and only scaffolding on this side of the door?

I can’t tell you why it appears burnt or if it is actually burnt. What I can say is that the other side was already used as part of the interior of Riverrun, this side has clearly not been completed (most of the wood is bare) and there is no set built around this side of the door, only scaffolding and a gravel scrapyard.

Therefore it is highly unlikely that they have any intention to film from this side of the door, so why the door looks as it does shouldn’t be revealing of anything.

Great catch! The castle doors indeed look burned using some fire spitting battering-ram, which means Euron was attacking some castle located right by the sea. And now again I don’t know what to think about Zumaia (and Bermeo) anymore. Dragonstone? Dorne? Stormlands? All in one? I give up until we find out who of the main cast shows up there during the filming.

OK. After the second look I assume that during the ship action filming the gates of Riverrun were or were prepared to be covered with green screen (the wall is all covered with scaffolds). However, the fact that the gates of Riverrun look burned is interesting nonetheless: it looks like someone (Edmur Tully?) took it from the Freys/Lannisters again and pretty early in the season (which I expected and predicted).

Been wondering about why there’s a hatch on the prow of that ship (Silence perhaps) and why they’ve even built the base… maybe it’s for shots of the Ironborn coming out the hatch when they land or to insert a detachable set piece at the front. Now why could that be…. 😉

Even if is’t the backside of the gates, the fact that they look burnt is important. How do you break through the gates when you have no giant? You bring flammables (faggots and wood) to the gate and set them on fire. The gate starts to burn both from the outside and inside exactly the way we see in the pictures. So, the siege (and retake) of Riverrun confirmed.

RR can only be accessed by the drawbridge, which doesn’t open in the same way.

Maisie!! <3<3 I'm so excited! Her outfit def looks Winterfell/Stark ish! I don't know why people keep thinking she's going South. I don't think we'll have time for that. She's had her own storyline for a while now, she's gonna end up with the BHWB (who are on their way North). But a Stark reunion makes me wary….I agree one or both of the Stark girls won't make it to season 8.

How is Bran going to be in Winterfell early in the season if he has to pass through the wall? Once he does that the White Walkers are coming through and that can’t be before the season finale.

You are too fixed on the Bran’s frostbite mark. I has done it’s job already and now it will disappear. I’m almost sure that the show runners will show us Bran checking his wrist before passing through the Wall and seeing it healed. To annul the spells protecting Wall, the Night’s King will have to grab Bran again in his green dream physically being on the other side (or find some other way). Is it that hard to realize?

They spent one season just to reveal who the mother was. They’ll certainly do the same for the father and clear up the family tree. I’ve seen a lot of people who think Jon and Dany are cousins, or that Jon is the Mad King’s son or Robert’s kid. The majority of the viewers are casual fans who don’t read all the theories and books and keep up with filming news.

As for the tourney speculation. In the “In Production” teaser (at around 1:10 I think) there’s a frame with a bunch of shields and tourney spears. Among the shields there are: Baratheon, Bolton, Mallister, Whent, Karstark, Arryn.

The Boltons and Baratheons are gone, so the only thing their shields would be useful for is a flashback. Whent is the family that organized the tourney and Mallister is a house from the Riverlands. So the tourney speculation isn’t born from thin air and it would make sense to show such a major past event to establish the R+L relationship.

It’s the 1:01 mark in the production teaser. I went and rewatched.

Yes, that shot looked to me as a hint to the Tourney of Harenhall too, and I expect to see much more than the story told to us by Littlefinger. The fact that out of all the potential narrators the show runners chose the liar No. 1 of Westeros shouts loudly that that there is still a lot of things to see and not only about R+L.

A member of House Whent was present when Cat arrested Tyrion in Season 1 and presumably accompanied them to the Eyrie. It’s possible that they could have manufactured a shield for that character, although I don’t remember seeing it on-screen.

It’s also possible it could have been created for the Red Wedding massacre scenes.

Regardless, I think the existence of a single shield is a hell of a stretch to start extrapolating major scenes and flashbacks from. Especially considering that it is among a variety of shields and props that we have already seen on the show at various points, into which surely nothing can be read.

I have compared the shots from the Paint Hall and In Production Teaser: indeed the order of the shields is identical. However, the Mallisers (the shield with a white eagle (?) on a blue field hanging between the Tyrell and the Baratheon shields), nor the Whents (the shield on the right from the Arryn) have never appeared in the show. They were only mentioned here and there and in the scene where Catelyn arrested Tyrion back in S1 where some of the Whent men were present we saw a different version of the Whent shield (one bat instead of six or seven). All in all, I’m pretty sure that those two shields have never appeared in the show before. And by the way, the round shield on the top is the one used by the Stark men at the Tower of Joy in Ep603. So, the shot may indeed hint to Tourney of Harenhall with the Stark shield signifying Lyanna. At least, we can hope for a glimpse especially taking into account that they showed us the Mad King last season.
