what does being verified mean?

i see on some peoples profiles they hav a checck adn then it says verfied. wat does that mean?

If you check out my perfil page, you will see that I'm "verified" too, but it doesn't mean anything at all.

It means that your real. Like I have Verified Katycat(Katy Perry fan_). That means I am a true Katy Perry fan. :D but fake celebrities on here use it. Verified means nothing when it comes to someone saying there a celebrity.
