Rosalie POV
I look up at Emmett, who is wearing an expression of horror on his face. I look around on the ground and then in the car. I check extremely thoroughly although the odds that I wouldn’t notice the ring are slim to none. I look back up at Emmett with little sadness in my eyes. “It’s not here. I think it might have fallen off when Alice and I were playing in the water,” I tell him. His expression changes from horror to sadness and then to anger. I step closer to him, “Emmett?” I say, concerned. He doesn’t respond but let’s me lead him from the garagem into the living room. I sit on the sofá and pat the assento seguinte to me, but he continues to stand and looks out the window. The anger is obviously written on his face and he is visibly trying to calm himself down. I sigh and go behind him. “Emmett, it’s not that big of a deal,” I say trying to calm him down. But apparently that was the wrong thing to say. He lets out a growl and I quickly mover right behind him, about to embrulho, envoltório my arms around his waist when he turns around suddenly. I am too close to him and his sudden movement sent me across the room, his strength no match to my surprise. Say what you will about being prepared for a surprise, but you never truly are. That’s why it’s a surprise. I go through the mural and land in a mess of plaster. Emmett’s expression changes to shock as he realizes how close I was to him and that his turn had sent me sailing into the wall.
Emmett POV
“It’s not that big of a deal,” Rose says and I feel the anger fluctuate inside me. I was about to tell her how her how much of a big deal it was when the sight of her flying into the mural stopped me. I look in horror and shock as I see her in the midst of plaster. How close was she to me? I thought she was still on the couch? I quickly run over to her and ask her if she’s okay. She nods her head but looks scared, like I might do something else to her. “Oh my God Rose I am so sorry. I thought you were still on the couch. I would never do anything to hurt you, please believe me,” I desperately tell her. “I know, it was an accident. But… why are you so upset about the ring? I mean can’t you just get me another one?” She says tentatively looking up at me. I sigh, “No not like that one. Rose, that was my mother’s wedding ring that my father got her.” She gasps and I can see how much she truly regrets losing that ring. “Emmett, I had no idea…” she whispers. I pick her up and take her over to the couch. Starting to remove the plaster from her hair I say, “I know. It just makes me so sad that it’s gone. It can never be replaced.” She looks absolutely heartbroken so I lift up her face and caress her cheek before I plant a kiss on her luscious lips. Our kiss was broken por the sound of Esme’s gasp as she walked into the living room with grocery bags in her arms. “What the hell happened to my wall?” She said looking disapprovingly at Rose and I on the couch. I chuckle; of course she would make that assumption. It wouldn’t be the first time that she found us amidst plaster, but she should know that if that were the case… well odds are the house wouldn’t even be standing. “Nothing, I accidentally sent Rose through the wall,” I start but the alarmed expression on Esme’s face has me backtracking, “but she’s okay! It was an accident, she’s fine,” I say trying to soothe her fears. “Oh, okay well don’t think that that means you get away with out fixing it,” she replies as she gives me a look. “Of course not mom,” I say back to her before giving Rose another kiss. As sad as I am about the ring, Rose is mais important to me. And the thought of hurting her is too much for my coração to bear, no matter if it was beating or not. So I take her up to our room where we spent the rest of the night together.
