"what can I get you?" the bartender asks. And the boy sits at the counter, wipes away his bloody nose, and lays an ID on the counter.
"Vodka, and lots of it," and the boy slides a debit card after it.
The bartender looks at the ID, trying to identify if it's fake. This boy is too young. To small, too scrawny, too, boyish, to be really 20 like his ID says. Nope, not fake. As far as the bartender can see. And she swipes his card and fills him a shot glass of Vodka.
"What are you here for?" The bartender puts her hands on the counter letting her blonde hair spill over her shoulders.
"I don't know what you mean." the boy says an swings from the glass. Recoiling from the taste but soon getting over it and smiling at the twinge in his head. The twinge that tells him it's working. The twinge that starts to wash away the blood from his memory.
" Come on son, we alls got our resins for ending up down here, what's yours?"
"I came to forget." *his silvery hair shines in the dim light of the bar. " I came to forget" he repeats
"you can do what your doing," The little blonde gestures to the boy "this... But I'll tell you one thing" The bartender leans over the counter and the boy can't revert his eyes from hers. Such a deep blue, the eyes of a person who's not there for any other reason then to help him, "you can hide like this, like a coward. I won't mind! But you can never escape what is, it just is. Because I'll tell you what...." the bartender backs away a little bit "You will NEVER forget" And the boy rips his gaze away and pushes the shot glass back with his card
"Well I'll hide for as long as I can," and he gestures for her to refill his glass. And she turns away, her eyes strictly averted fro his. But the boy dosnt mind. He came to forget. He came to forget...
He pushes what is his 2nd shot too many away. Takes his card and stands up to leave. But his body wont let him. He's shaky and dazed.
"forget yet?" the young bartender takes the glass. And the boy, he just smiles. "by the way 'Bean' I know that ID is fake." The boy turns to face her. "because your eyes aren't blue." and she hands him the I D card.
