Probably as close to friends as Malfoy was capable of having. Friendship is kind of an equal thing and he believes himself to be above just about everyone.
I'd describe Crabbe & Goyle more as 'loyal toadies' than 'true friends' though. =P
I think Draco ended up considering them as friends (more so as the series progressed), but Crabbe and Goyle didn't think the same- at least when the Malfoy's lost respect, and Crabbe openly defied Draco's orders in Deathly Hallows. Draco was horrifed about Crabbe's death even after he disrespected him, and he refused to leave Goyle and risked his own life staying with him.
I don't think it was entirely one sided. Even though Crabbe defied Draco's orders, I don't think it had anything to do with their friendship. Crabbe's parents were also with the dark side, so he probably really wanted to hurt Harry, I don't think it has anything to do with friendship because friends don't always do what their friends ask them to do. Also, if Draco was able to see Crabbe and Goyle as 'friends' then I think Crabbe and Goyle would think Draco as a friend too. I mean it's Draco, he always thinks people are above him. Plus, after spending all those years they did together, people do tend to form a deeper relationship and in this case friendship. It's just how it is.
@xHardcoreBunnyx Completely agree with you. It wouldn't be natural for a person to spend so much time with someone else without forming a friendship. I also think Blaise and Pansy were his friends too. All four of them were, well, to me anyways.
No, they were just a nuisance. I think the only reason Draco put up with them was because he didn't want to be alone. Plus, they were the only ones who really stuck by him. Even if it was only because of their parents being death eaters.
I say this because, if u look at Draco's face in part 2 of Deathly Hallows, Draco is heartbroken when Goyle (or was it Crabbe? IDK, I get the 2 mixed up) fell off of the pile of junk in the Room of Requirement and was killed (or burned alive). I realllyyyy don't like Pansy, so..... I don't agree with anyone on the Pansy issue....

I think in the end it was a one-sided friendship.
