Princess Mononoke is just Pocahontas but smarter and better, as is Arrietty to Thumbalina (not a Disney film but still), and Nausicca is Brave but smarter. They've created some of the greatest Animated movies of all time, not that Disney didn't, but they were making some industry changing shit when other companies were making dull, lifeless, hacky, commercial whores (Hercules, Shark Tale, etc.) Anywayz it is DISTRIBUTED by Disney, but it's not the same. posted over a year ago.

	viktoriya773 picked No.: @KataraLover Princess Mononoke is a MASTERPIECE! It's written, directed and animated perfectly. It's almost flawless. Spirited Away is the most popular but Mononoke is the best. Lion King use to be my favorite animated movie but after watching princess Mononoke it's not any more. You might hate Ghibli as much as you want, but Ghibli is and will be recognized as an amazing story telling studio. With master Miyazaki creating some of the most amazing movies. Ghibli is a breath of fresh air. A form of new story telling and animation. Disney might be good at hand drawn animation but Ghibli PERFECTED it and The Wind Rises is the proof. Hate all you like but that won't change how great Ghibli is. The story is original and beautiful with mature themes. So I can't imagine that Disney can make something like Mononoke. posted over a year ago. last edited over a year ago
