oi guys, just to let you know that Dinosaur is a CAPS film. Anyway, remember CAPS? CAPS is Computer Animation Production System. It's a digital ink and paint system made por Pixar. CAPS is a disney process system used in animated feature films, the first at a major studio. Here are the projects produced using CAPS.

Despite the list was all we have, Dinosaur is technically a CAPS film because disney transfers CAPS to the now defunct Secret Lab and uses CAPS to blend the CG dinossauros and live action footage. Although Dinosaur is not a handdrawn film, it does get animated por using CAPS. According to Blu-Ray.com, disney & pixar Blu-ray Master List With Aspect Ratios Explained! referred to the movie as ANIMATED IN COMPUTER AT 1.6:1 (Using CAPS) FOR STANDARD WIDESCREEN (1.85:1). Interesting.

Here's the link: link

Now then, under that section it was listed Dinosaur as part of ANIMATED IN COMPUTER AT 1.6:1 (Using CAPS) FOR STANDARD WIDESCREEN (1.85:1). Check it out.

Dinosaur [Filmed at 1.6:1, matted to 1.85:1 for theatrical and DVD/Blu-ray release. 1.85:1 should be considered it's original aspect ratio.]
Emperor's New Groove (2000)

***Later releases of Beauty and the Beast, aladdin and Lion King all differ from the Original Theatrical Release due to some small changes in animation that were approved por the director's for IMAX re-releases, and/or additional songs were added. aladdin did not see an IMAX re-release, so the changes simply went straight to the Platinum Edition DVD. The films were slightly cropped from 1.66:1 to 1.55:1 for IMAX showings. Some theatrical viewings of the three films were presented in ratios ranging from 1.66:1-1.85:1, depending on the theater. Also Beauty and the Beast was released at several film festivals as a work-in-progress. This was a 60% finished version of the film. It was released on Laserdisc and DVD as a branching feature, and in PiP on the Blu-ray. Beauty and the Beast will receive it's 3rd theatrical release in January 2012, just in time for Valentines Day. Lion King also recently received a 3D theatrical re-release this fall leading up to the 3D Blu-ray release. Both titles were re-released in 3D theatrically and on Blu-ray at a 1.78:1 ratio, which were approved por the original directors and Producer Don Hahn.

See? That's why Dinosaur was fully utilize the CAPS system for animated in computer at 1.6:1 por using CAPS for standard widescreen (1.85:1) as Dinosaur was filmed at 1.6:1, matted to 1.85:1 for theatrical and DVD/Blu-ray release. So 1.85:1 should be considered it's original aspect ratio. So here are the final list of projects produced using CAPS.

behind the scenes
It's something i've noticed a lot is that characters like Pocahontas and Esmeralda always get their names mispronounced por people.

Is there a reason for it? I know not everybody is good with names but it's bizarre how it's always the same names and the same mistakes that occur.

It's really strange because other "difficult" names like Jafar or Rapunzel don't get mispronounced that much. And it's not really a difficult name to mispronounce, at least we see how is Pocahontas' name written in the screen (the title). I'm guessing the thing with Esmeralda is people unfamiliar with Spanish, but still, it's a little bizarre.
