I decided to start a series of analyzing the DP Couples in depth (and later, the other disney Couples) after I got bored one day, and wanted to write a series of articles. You can recommend me which couple to do seguinte in the couples section. So here is how it is going to go. I will first explain my no geral, global statement about the couples in a paragraph, and then I will analyze each scene to look at the inner and outer feelings of the characters individually an the couple itself. I also have a request, just for a little while; please do not recommend a disney Renaissance couple? I say this because I have gone through half of them, and I want to even out through some of the ares. At least for 4 analysis'.

First thoughts right after watching the Movie

My thoughts about this couple is...... there is definitely like in this relationship, some lust as well (more on Jane's part), we know why they like and enjoy one another, but I cannot help but feel as if something is missing. Maybe it is the fact that a montage takes up a majority of their relationship. Their relationship is not bad, and you do get invested in it; but not as much as others.

Tarzan just killed the leopard and hears a gunshot. Kerchak tells them to follow him, but he decides not to, so he can figure out what the sound is. He finds a bullet and not knowing what it is, he sniffs, likes and bites it. He hears another bullet shot, and hides. We are introduced to Jane, Mr. Porter, and Clayton who just arrived via boat. Her and her father get excited that they are in a Gorilla's Nest, as he watched them (especially her). He almost gets shot por Clayton who senses that they are being followed. The trio decides to leave, but Jane bumps into a monkey and starts to draw it. She draws a good amount but the monkey takes her book which she tries to get back. She tricks the monkey that she sees a banana and grabs the book out of his hand, laughing at the fact that he fell for it. The monkey whines for his family to get her, and they all chase her down. Tarzan sees this and decides to save her. She is about to jump across, but she is caught por him and when she sees him, she screams out of fear. They reach a tree, and she tells him to put her down. Soon after, the monkeys show up and they are on the run again. Her umbrella stalls the monkeys for a bit, but it ends up making he get caught in a vine, and the monkeys trampling over her. He realizes that she got stuck and rolls his eyes in annoyance before saving her. They eventually escape the monkeys, and he hovers over her when they are on a árvore to protect her from getting trampled. After they are in no harms way, she slowly crawls away from him to escape, but gets herself caught in a gap between two trees. He goes under her, which scares and creeps her out, making her almost fall until he pushes her onto surface. He starts to go closer to her and to sniff her, creeping her out. She forcefully tells him to stay in one spot and to not go near her, which fails. He starts to play with her toes causing her to laugh, and then he starts to lift up her dress, and she kicks him, telling him to get off. He then grabs her face and her wrist in interest to inspect her (to find similarities). He pulls off her luva curiously, and puts their hand together in a realized moment for him. He realizes that she is of his kind and she is emotionless during this movement. He puts his head on her chest, which she thinks is a perverted move. He grabs her face and puts it in his chest, saying that his heartbeat is very nice, which he imitates. She thought that he was complimenting her hair, and then realizes that he can "understand her", which she previously thought he was a man who talks to monkeys. He imitates her some mais after he tells her name and tries to figure out her name, which he originally thought was "Oh I see". The gunshot is heard, which she says must be Clayton, which he thinks is what a gunshot is heard. He says "Clayton" while looking out, which she found extraordinary, and then asks him to take her to her camp, which he does. He was immediately drawn to her (most likely because he has never seen another female of his kind before), and followed her out of instinct (like Pocahontas did to John Smith). She was in shock and fright about being attacked por a bunch of monkeys and being whisked away por a man in a loincloth to have a proper opinion. It was not until he started to imitate her where she found him and his case extraordinary. They are interested in eah other, but mais so scientifically than romantic.

Tarzan and Jane arrive to the camp, and sees Terk, Tantor, etc trash the camp, thus "Trashing the Camp". She then realizes that Tarzan is one of the gorillas when he interacted with his friends, and she said this in an intrigued way. Kerchak and the other monkeys show up extremely mad because a human (Jane) is with them, and they leave with a reluctant Tarzan following them. As soon as the monkeys leave, Mr. Porter and Clayton show up after looking for her, asking what happened to her. She told them about how she was attacked por monkeys, and dreamingly said that she was saved por a man in a loincloth and about the monkeys trashing the camp, and when they asked "where he was", she longingly said that he left with the monkeys. We are then shown Kerchak ordering the monkeys to stay away from the humans. Him and Tarzan get into a confrontation about the humans, and Kerchak tells him that he will protect the family, making him run off monkey style. He is mad at his mother that she did not tell him that there were people that looked like him. We are taken back to the camp, and Jane continually talks about Tarzan. She draws him on a chalkboard, and describes how his body functions like a gorilla. She then tells her father that he has no respect for personal boundaries., but not really complaining about it. She then started to draw again while saying that he was confused, like he never saw a human before. While she draws his eyes, she describes his intense and focused eyes dreamingly saying that she never saw eyes like his. This scene shows her lust for him, which her father comments on, saying that he should "leave her and the chalkboard alone", with her giggling telling her father to stop. Clayton thinks that she is engulfing in a girlish fantasia (probably true), and thinks it is false which is he is proven wrong when Tarzan reappears. Mr. Porter starts looking at him saying that he is interesting (he is a scientist). Clayton tries to ask him about the gorillas, but he only imitates him. Jane tells him that he does not understand English and should teach him, thus "Strangers Like Me". This song is interesting e ause it is somewhat a romantic song. Some of it is expressing his need to learn abou the strangers like him and knowledge, and these feelings for Jane that he never felt or knew existed. He then wants her to see the beauty of his world, and hopes that she feels the same he does. We already know Jane's feelings before the song, and now we get to hear his. In the montage, we are shown then dancing, glancing at one another, her privately drawing him, looking at birds, and swinging vines together, and get pretty close and look at one another, causing her to blush. At the end of the song, he sees the picture of the man on one knee holding the flor to the woman, and he is inspired to do that to Jane. So overall, we are shown Jane's lust and interest in Tarzan, his growing like for her, and her like for him increasing a lot.

Being hopelessly in amor with her, he grabs flores for her and approaches the camp, but it is being packed as the ship has arrived. He finds her and bumps into her, trying to give her the flowers. As she picks up her luggage, she asks him if he can come to Londres with them, and he agrees not being aware of the fact that she means permanently, and not return the seguinte day. She tells him that he belongs with people, which he responds por saying that he belongs with her, askin her to stay at the jungle. She tells him emotionally that she cannot stay, and runs off crying. It seems kind of harsh for her to assume that he would come with her, but she does not really understand his attachment to the land and especially the gorillas, so it makes sense though a bit harsh. Clayton approaches him and tells Tarzan that girls are so emotional and confusing. He uses Tarzan's feelings for Jane to let him and the gang (he does not care about the gang) see the gorillas, which Tarzan did because he thought that would convince Jane to stay. They approach the gorillas nest, which scares off Kala. Tarzan tells her that she is his mother, and she then gets why he is so attached to the jungle. They "Ooh ooh", and a bunch of gorillas show up. Mr. Porter is having fun with the gorillas on his own, and Jane and Tarzan are separate from him, hanging with a different group of gorillas. She sees him happily play with the gorillas, and asks him to teach her gorilla so she could spend mais time with him and to interact with the gorillas. He teaches her unknowingly "Jane stays with Tarzan" and after he responds to her asking what she said, she sadly says that she thought they talked about it, and he holds her face telling her to stay. They are interrupted when Kerchak shows up, and is furious that humans have interacted with his group. Kerchak is about to attack them, but Tarzan fights him off, telling them to leave. After they leave, he feels serious remorse and confusion, and runs off feeling like a traitor. After he dresses in human clothes and tells his mother that he is leaving the anterior evening, they about to climb onto the boat, where Jane and her father tell him that he will meet a bunch of scientists, and even the Queen. Tarzan asks her that he will stay with her, causing her to blush and fidgety, saying yes. They all climb into the barco and are trapped thanks to Clayton. Tarzan is going crazy and trying to escape, and almost lashes out at Jane when she tries to calm down. They realize that they have been betrayed. They are in amor with one another, and clearly want to be with one another, but reality is in the way.

After the climax happens, Kerchak is dying and his last words to Tarzan is that he is sorry for the way he treated him and that he should lead the monkey proud. After he dies, Tarzan stands in a monkey stance, signifying their leadership. Him and his gorillas walk off, and Mr. Porter was going to follow them, but Jane out her hand on his shoulder, practically telling him that it is not their place to go with them at the moment, since they are a small part of Kerchak's death. The seguinte day, the Porters are preparing to leave, and she tells Tarzan that England will be so small compared to all of this she has experienced in Africa. Jane gets called to hurry up, but she tells them to wait. They say good blue por placing their hands on each other, and she once again emotionally walks away, and they sail away from him, with her looking extremely sad. Her father tells her that he cannot help por feel that she should stay, and she tells him that they have talked about this (so this means that she considered staying with him and discussed it with her father beforehand) that she belongs with people. He tells her that she loves the jungle man, and out of symbolism, her luva flies to him. After her father tells her to go again, she leaps into the water and rushed to him. She pounces on him and after getting up, kisses him in excitement. She thanks him for getting her luva and he pulls her in for a passionate kiss. They are interrupted por the gorillas and Tantor, and she walks up to them saying that she stays with Tarzan in gorilla (what he taugh her). In the epilogue, they are swinging through the vines with her looking like a jungle woman..... two worlds, one family. He growls, and she stands beside him.

Final Thoughts
After analyzing them, I realized that they are the best savage-civilian relationship in the canon. Their feelings are believable, you know why they like each other, and you are rooting for them, but like the Nostalgia Critic said, "they could have been developed a bit more", which I do agree with. I do like the montage thingy (they should have used it in Pocahontas), but whenever it is used, the relationship always feels a bit mais contrived than others. As a couple, these two do fine, but there are some better ones. These two are one of the better couples, but not the best.

Swanpride has already sent a reccomendation of Lady and Tramp which I will do seguinte Monday, but for the one after, if you have any recommendations of which couple do you want me to do seguinte (not any disney Renaissance couples at the moment), say it in the comments, and explain how you feel about this relationship, and how the movie executes it. I am going to do a DP couple seguinte time, so suggest a DP couple. There are only 4 to choose from, and it will be posted on the disney Princess club.

I will post a D/DP Couple analysis every Monday, and another D/DP Couple Analysis every OTHER Friday
Clayton, the savage poacher vs. Gaston, the arrogant hunter! In this video I will analyze both combatants weapons/ combat skills, comparing Clayton and Gaston's abilities side por side to determine who would win in a hypothetical battle.
