I do, but that's because our dad always told us the story that way. So i grew up with that, and now it's a fact for me. And it also makes sense, she probably killed him, so she could use his money to give her daughters everything

The only thing I wonder is if she killed him why didn't she kill Cinderella considering she doens't like her and she could easily hire a servant

I always thought he had a deathly illness or something.

"untimely death"

I believe so. It's like Mrs. Honey's fathers death in Matilda. We don't know for certain whether Trunchball killed him, but it's most certainly implied. I don't think she would've killed Cinderella, she obviously gets sad enjoyment over emotional pain. She could've hired a servant, but it's different. Cinderella was directly related to a man who Tremaine was mainly with because of his fortune. It was just an extra slap in the face for Cinderella. 'Her dad's dead, I'm rich with mainly her fortune. Let's make her life Hell" sorta thing. She would get more satisfaction out of it than just hiring a normal servant. There's also the jealousy thing that comes to mind aswell.

Honestly sounds better in my head.

Than again she probably wanted to save money so she and her daughters could spend more money on themselves because they'd have to say the hired help while they'd only have to pay Cinderella food, bed, and roof over her head

I always considered her more coldly, viciously calculating than murder level bad guy. I don't see her killing her husband out of sheer evil, and can't think of another reason she would have needed to. Especially since in those days would he not have been her source of money and security? I can't see her killing him while he was being useful. If for some reason he had been in her way I could buy her poisoning him or something, but I don't think that is what happened personally.

I agree with Moogoose09. Cinderella and the stepsisters are the same age in the image where Cinderella and her after are happy and where Cinderella is mourning him. To me that implies that he died not long after they were wed. And she was probably in it for the money, and didn't want more blood on her hands. As soon as Cinderella's father had left his money to her instead of Cinderella, she probably offed him. And since she didn't have anything else to do with Cinderella, she used her as free labor. Two deaths, both on the same side of the family, would be WAY to suspicious. Tremein seems smart enough to know that.

I actually never thought about it before.
But a) like others said, why wouldn't she have killed Cinderella and b)He was the one that made the money, so I think Lady Tremaine would have been happy to go with that for a while, though I don't think she really cared either way and c) what's the point? she had his money, and so what could she do that would make her life better?

Apparently, somebody brought it up in IMDb and one user suggested that Tremaine might have poison him or something.

Yeah, It would've made sense of how he died. Walt would've added that in the film.

She would've revealed it to Cinderella in the third movie.

Lady Tremaine: And here's my little secret, Cinderella. I killed your dear old daddy.

Cinderella: NOOO!! Murderer!
