Swanpride picked The Dandelion:
So, in order to celebrate Princess of the month properly this time around, here a starter poll.

We could also do a countdown for her best dress, since she has quite a few, which month/season fits her the best, which colour should stand for her aso. And no, I don't intend to do all those, just throwing out some ideas as inspiration.

Anyway, I pick the Dandelion because while she is constantly portrayed with roses, often yellow roses, I think the Dandelion has a great meaning for her personally in the movie. The Rose stands more for the Beast than for her.

^Agree with the last paragraph. And she actually picks a dandelion and blows the seeds, so...

But dandelions aren't flowers, they're weeds.

Wish there was this participation for snow White and Merida month! But I guess Belle is a more popular princess.

Well, you know I wasn't around for Merida and I really missed out that there was Snow White month.

And naturally dandelions are flowers, they are wildflowers. In Germany they are called "Pusteblume" (blow flowers) when they are in their seed stage.

Naturally, they are weeds. So I wouldn't consider them Belle's flower.

Definitely. The rose is more the Beast's flower I think, especially as a romantic flower and he's the one that both falls for her first and tries to win her over. Dandelions definitely go with her drifting along in life and wanting to escape.

Why not both? They both have a lot of symbolism for her.

I disagree. The dandelion scene was very short. Meanwhile the rose was shown a lot more so it has more significance. I don't think the Beast had a flower to represent him. It was just Belle and the rose. The rose represents hope, a girl that Beast thought he would never get and Belle is that rose because with her, the spell was broken and she brought back hope to the castle and Beast's life. Also in other versions of BATB, Belle's favorite flower was the rose. Even in the live action BATB, Belle's favorite flower was the rose again and she asked her dad to get her a rose on his trip. I don't recall any dandelions in the live action version. The fact that there weren't any dandelions in other BATB versions and only a short scene in the Disney animated version, while the rose was shown a lot more in all the versions, probably means that the rose is way more important in representing Belle.

I guess I'm biased because rose is my favorite flower and I prefer Belle over Aurora and Belle is one of my most relatable princesses.

I agree with disnerdtobe too. And yes the rose is definitely significant to the Beast as well, but it does closely align with Belle.
