Sometimes they use a rose for Aurora so then they use a book for Belle.

Besides, the rose could also symbolize Aurora. And I think the gold dress is so iconic that it suits Belle best.

When people mention Belle and Disney, the thing I always think of is not a rose. It's a book. The rose reminds me of the beast, more than it reminds me of Belle, because the rose is "tied to the time-limit" on the beast's life. The rose doesn't represent Belle, but the book does.

Yeah, in addition to how it's the Beast's symbol, I associate roses much more with Aurora (her alias, the briars around the castle, almost getting turned into a flower, "lips that shame the red, red rose", growing up in a forest). Books are Belle's hobby and represent her open mind, and fairy tale books in particular show her familiarity with magic.

I personally like associating her with dandelions as well.

Both, but I pick book because she's often seen with at least one book. The rose is more belongs to Beast, also Aurora's symbol is a rose too. Gold dress is really common and not only for her.
