I feel like Merida takes the cake on this one. Of course, her flaws are exactly why I love her. <3 She is the most realistic of all the DPs imo.

I feel like Merida and Ariel have pretty much the same flaws. Stubborn, disobedient, disrespectful, overly-independent, and of course they both make rash decisions. But at least Merida learns her lesson in the end.

I find that Ariel does more to redeem herself than Merida does, because Ariel doesn't start off having such a hostile personality, and Ariel never really was as openly disrespectful as Merida was. Ariel didn't try to manipulate her dad, King Triton, when they had their disagreements. Ariel just sought solace afterward, and moped. Merida took matters to the extreme and tried to physically change her mother's thought process after their fight. I find Merida's apology less sincere than Ariel's, because Merida already knew (by the time she apologized) that Elinor was not going to force her to marry anyway.... which sort of defeated the whole purpose of Merida changing her mindset about the marriage...

Mulan is also really flawed. She starts of lazy, chronically tardy, and tries to cheat her way to success at the matchmakers. Mulan is basically a misfit in every sense of the word. But the army and its mandatory assignments and practice requirements manages to beat all of those bad habits out of her.

But I also find Tiana rather flawed. Tiana just marches around as a self righteous know-it-all, who can't keep her tongue from wagging and criticizing everybody around her "for not living life the way she herself does." Not everyone is the same. Hello. You can keep your niggling remarks to yourself, Tia.

Belle looks down her nose at her neighbors, and at everyone she meets including the beast. Belle only treats her dad with respect.

But every princess has issues. You just take it all in with as much of a grain of salt as you can.

Definitely! I agree with what wavesurf said about Merida.

and Jasmine. They are heavily flawed characters imo.

In my opinion she was, but strangely she is my 5th favorite.

I respectfully disagree with the other people's opinions about Merida, yes she's really bad character at first but like owleyes1316 said she realized that she's wrong and learns the lesson, and tried to be more mature and responsible, while Ariel not.

Which is why I love her.

I love Merida, but yeah....it's not a bad thing, though. Far from it.
I think characters whose flaws are not actually shown as such in canon should automatically be ranked lower tbh. What Ariel does is selfish and dumb, but that's not how the movie frames it.
