wavesurf picked Merida:
Okay... I just don't like know-it-alls. And I don't like characters who treat other characters with overt disdain. Furthermore, I don't like cut-throat overachievers. This means that I greatly dislike Tiana. Tiana's in my bottom three.

I don't like know-it-alls, and I don't like people who act superior. I can still smell a whiff of this on Belle, so Belle is not anywhere near my favorites, either.

Aurora is in my like category, but besides being shy, a daydreamer, and a dutiful girl, I feel like I know her about as much as I know Kida ( which is to say, both of them don't get very much development). I like Aurora, but if I knew more, I could increase my liking... That's my hangup.

Merida is in my like category ( not love category). I know enough about her personality based on the film, to be irritated at her personality, and then to endure watching her comeuppance. I gradually see a change of heart in her, towards kindness, which is greatly needed. But her initial staunchly "I am NOT kind" makes her outside of my love category.

MaidofOrleans picked Belle:
Belle, Tiana, and Merida are my top three princesses! They are the three DPs I truly love, and none of them have budged from my top three in years. Aurora is wonderful too though. Belle is my favorite because of her ability to see past the surface, and also because she reminds me of my best friend.

fandomgirl226 picked Tiana:
Tiana is such a hard worker and was one of the few princesses who was extremely focused on something other than bagging a guy (Belle, Merida, Mulan). I would have picked Mulan as well if she was an option. She also remind me of myself and is just a great inspiration to girls who are looking towards a more fulfilling dream.

anukriti2409 picked Belle:
Belle, mostly coz she's mature, accept others the way they are and is not judgmental and mostly she has an open mind and heart. Merida is close second coz no matter what others expect of her, she's her own self. Sure, she's childish and a brat, but she does learn to grow out of childish fear. Belle and Merida along with Pocahontas are my top 3.
Aurora and Tiana are my least fav.

AudreyFreak picked Aurora:
She's interesting, graceful, shy (without needing to change it by the end of the movie), responsible, relatable to me. I love characters like her who fit the Princess Classic trope to a T and her interactions with Phillip. I like how she wants more but doesn't run away or whine about it, she enjoys the life she has and hopes for the best later on.

And also that she wanted romantic companionship, because while the fairies were wonderful family and the animals were good friends, that isn't the same thing a committed spouse can give you, and there's also nothing remotely "unfulfilling" about that. It's what almost every human being in the world craves at some point, even a little.

Then Merida or Tiana, who often switch places. Merida's lesson is possibly my favorite and a big reason I like her. Hollywood has a tendency to mask selfishness as "just following your heart" and Brave shows the honest side of doing that. Merida chose what she wanted over what was right and paid for it dearly, forcing her to own up to her bad behavior and try to make things right. She's also exciting to watch and is a pretty realistic character. Tiana I like a lot- before she turns into a frog. She's warm and classy and despite her differences with Lottie the girls aren't pitted against each other. However, they made her a flat cardboard version of herself who is obsessed with hard work when she becomes a frog, making her rather know-it-all-ish as wafesurf said, which I don't think.

I've grown to like Belle much more over the years for her loyalty and class and similarities to Cinderella, though she's still in my bottom 3. I dislike people who think they're too good for small towns or for making friends with "hicks" simply because they don't share your interests. Her situation is actually very close to my own but I guess I can't relate to her more because our reactions to it are very different.

disneymagic93 picked Belle:
I love Belle because I can relate to her love of reading and I feel left out at my college. I also love Aurora because I can be an introvert depending on the situation & I feel lonely & isolated at my college. I don't like Merida. I think she's rude & obnoxious. I haven't seen the Princess & the Frog in 5 years but I didn't like Tiana's uptight attitude.

And Aurora and Tiana. She's adventurous, fearless and playful. She can make pretty bad choices and be childish but she knows how to change herself.

She's more relatable and I like that she's a bookworm.
