JNTA1234 picked I agree with all of them:
Between Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Merida and Anna. Yeah, they make Walt's princesses look like a pool pf diversity!

I just wanted to this out this Ariel is the "worst role model" and Mulan is the "best role model". These two are the epitome of teenage behavior, in different ways though.

Pocahontas is easily solid third place for title of Mary-Sue.

Anna feels like a caricature sometimes, I prefer Anna but I do feel that Rapunzel is the more well written and dear I say, realistic character.

Merida's a far better character in the second of the film, from every perspective, role model, feminism, likability, morally, everything!!

And Elsa....yeah.

also Merida. I haven't thought about Pocahontas but that leaves me to question, she has a lot of flaws but the movie does make it seem like she is this mature spirit of some sort. Elsa, I want to love her but I'm going more on the objective side.

I don't know anyone who acts like Mulan tbh. I mean in the sense that she's awkward and not very assertive yes, but none who grow into a confident, hyper-competent person so easily. I'd probably rank her around the middle if I were to make a list though.

Brenda's Merida is where Merida went way wrong and the fact that two different people wrote her is why the movie feels so zig-zagged. Also the classics and maybe Pocahontas. I'm not sure I'd call her a Sue but Purity Sue totally. I don't see Rapunzel as realistic at all myself- nobody's that talented, lovable, intelligent, capable, perfect at all they try, etc.

I agree. She is a Purity Sue. But I prefer admirable Purity Sues like Pocahontas and Rapunzel over such heroines like Merida.

Sparklefairy375 picked I agree with none:
Neither of them that I really agree.

Ariel might be a realistic representation of teenager (before Merida was created), but Mulan is definitely not. She is way more mature than her age and take more responsibilities than most teenagers usually had.

I think the classic princesses are somehow have similar personality.

I agree that Rapunzel is more properly written character, but I don't feel Anna entertaining me at all.

Somehow the criticism towards Elsa are just makes no sense with her actual personality shown in the movie. Like how people judge her to be selfish, whiny, etc.

Having no idea what's Brenda Chapman or Mark Andrew's version of Merida.

Pocahontas isn't a Mary Sue, she's somehow being indecisive and unsure.
