Both are supposed to be relatable, but Jasmine has more unlikeable flaws, and gets into trouble from her own actions all. The. Time. I used to think Mulan wasn't a Sue but after hearing more people point out how idealized she is as a role model I kind of agree. She can't really do anything wrong while Jasmine is bratty and self-centered sometimes (not hating on her. I love that she's flawed!).

And Jasmine fails at a lot of stuff she tries while Mulan consistently succeeds at everything the movie portrays as important (ie fighting and using your wits, not being a perfect bride, which is portrayed as silly) she does.

Jasmine is definitely not a Mary Sue! I don think any of the princesses are true Mary Sues, but Mulan is much more Mary Sue like.

I was voting for Jasmine, so, of course no.

Mulan´s storyline might be more common for a Mary Sue (and when Mary Sue does not have a lead role), but her personality is likely for a Mary Sue.

Mulan failed at being a perfect bride and ashamed her family, while nobody pointed out that Jasmine was spoiled and selfish in the movie. Only i the end people loved Mulan, while everyone was a friend of Jasmine from the beginning. She offended and did many bad things to her father and he never said anything about it.

lol at jasmine winning and only a few comments. i swear mulan fans cant stand seeing her get voted as ANYTHING bad. stop rigging the poles and just accept that your favorite might be a mary sue! cause she sure is alot like one, she's perfect at everything GOOD in the movie, being a fighter, she's a genius, she can get out of any situation so magically, and she does all this at like age 16?!? shes so perfect. this mary sue needs to go already.

and what friends did jasmine have? rajhah? he's her pet, of course he likes her. jafar didnt say she was spoiled but he certainly hated her and called her a shrew, the movie isnt about her anyway so it doesnt say much about her

She constantly suceeds in what she does, in the audience's point of view. She impresses the audience, but fails to be a perfect bride. This justmakes us love her even more. And I think that's what a mary-sue really is. Somebody that the entertainments-eaters just can't hate. And I am a MAJOR entertainment-eater. I still think that Belle should be here though.
