It's quite clear in my opinion, and how I NEVER see Shang's "attraction" to Ping? He was becoming friends with Ping and even that took quite a time, and people seriously say that he was right away falling in love? Maybe I'm just weird for not seeing anything to even refering to that but I see the idea Shang falling for Ping a great ridiculous miscalculation of his character.
