Although this is a good movie, it has it's moments.

This movie has cheesy all over it. The Little Mermaid and Tangled are cheesy as well. Aladdin is to a certain extent as well. I might switch my vote to one of the two former

Kind of too cutesy for my taste. I would've had a hard time deciding between this and Brave if it was included.

Whoever chose Pocahontas is in my opinion out of their mind, but anyway enough of that. I promise you, I am not just trying to be a hater of anything that has to do with SB, but to prove that I am not just being biased, this is literally the heart of all of my reasonings of why I hate this movie.

The whole thing of their is a so called gorgeous princess who meets a so called handsome prince who awakens her by true loves kiss is just unoriginal and very, if you get what I am saying, typical, clichéd, and cheesy. Even the characters act cheesy. Aurora has to basically wait for the story to move her character and she acts so fake and like she knows what is going to happen. The way they move, talk, sing, act, everything about this movie is just cheesy.

f you would say Pocahontas is cheesier that sleeping beauty garbage has got to be out of their mind. Pocahontas clearly acts realistic, sings very freely and realistically and the storyline itself may be a little typical for disney, but look at this. Sleeping beauty: everyone lives happily ever after the end and she marries her prince. Pocahontas: the First Lady in disney and the only lady to ever not get back with her prince and not have a happy ending. So clearly Pocahontas is WAY less cheesy than SB!!!!! if you disagree, reply. I won't hate you if you like SB

Why the hell would you say people who choose Pocahontas are out of their mind and then say ''I won't hate you if you like SB''? Way to judge people for their opinions. The whole ''listen to your heart, you will understand'' vibe in Pocahontas is definitely cheesy to me.

I agree ^ I think every child movie fairytale can have its cheesy moments, but the overall message in Pocahontas is cheesy IMO.

And NOW the GREAT-SILLY question!
What's a cheesy movie? How do we call a movie cheesy?

I'm wondering about that, too...because for my life, I don't consider any of the DP-movies cheesy. Cheesy means that something is so bad that it is somehow good again, that someone tried to hard, that something is overly melodramatic...and that's exactly what Disney movies, even the bad ones, aren't.

@Dimitri-is-hot, please, I am not trying to offend anyone. That is just my thoughts and I am not really hating you. Gosh, can't you people understand a joke? All disney princess movies are obviously a little cliche and cheesy in some way. You just picked on the tiniest little detail of the movie. That is the nature of disney, to be fairy tale like. But sleeping beauty took it too far. Why don't you watch once upon a dream again and look at how aurora says "why do they treat me like a child" and so on. Then look at Pocahontas and please compare. Think whatever you want but The whole point of my comment was to try to convince people. I am new here, geez!

Well I'm sorry for being so rude, I don't mean any harm when I'm like that but I'd rather tell you ''directly'' how I feel. Also, I have a lot more reasons why Pocahontas is cheesy, but I've already explained it in the past.

Well the same goes for me about sleeping beauty. It is okay, no need to say sorry, don't want to turn this into a soap opera do we? JK.

I guess I can't convince you, no one can convince me about my opinion about sleeping beauty.
Quick question, just out of curiosity what is your opinion on sleeping beauty?

I think for it's time, it needed it's cheesy moments to lighten the dark ones. Tangled is pretty cheesy at times too though, it has some pretty cheesy lines. =)

"Cheesy" is when something or someone is trying way too hard to do something, and many times it ends up cliché. I think Snow White isn't cheesy because it pretty much created/intensified princess clichés, so by the time they did the movie, it wasn't nearly as cliché as it is nowadays, but with Cinderella being pretty much the same, Aurora and her movie turned out foreseeable. I like this movie (sleeping beauty) because of it's art and aesthetics, but the story doesn't have anything different or unusual, neither does the characters. I could say MOST lines that Aurora said are cheesy.

Shanyu- how can SB possibly be cliche? The only two movies at all like that at that time were Cinderella and SW!
