Chapter One—Letter of Love

Many young maidens dream to get married and to find their true loves. One young maiden in particular was very happy upon fining such a true love. She was a chubby, short lady with a red bow on her short black hair, and constantly adorned an adorable smile. Her name was Snow White, and she grinned happily while she was riding her prince’s horse toward her castle.
As the two of them approached the Prince’s castle, the two of them happily kissed. Joyfully thinking about her marriage while she ended her kiss with her prince, Snow White looked above to see her castle. It looked like it was very high up, so she asked her prince a question.
“Why, just look! The castelo is so high up! How are we going to reach it?” She asked with a strong tone of curiosity with her voice.
Her prince smiled at her, happily.
Snow White smiled as she shuffled herself on her seat. It was so comfortable, and soft… just like a bed!

PART 10

Everything was finally as it should be. As it should’ve always been. John Rolfe had been banished from her tribe and forced to go back to London. John Smith promised Pocahontas that he would always stay with her and never leave her again. She made the same promise to him. Their lives, their hearts, their souls had become one, never to part again.
When he looked into her eyes and held her in his arms, he felt warmth that he never felt elsewhere. He felt amor that he never thought was possible. When she looked into his eyes and was held in his arms, she felt safer than she did elsewhere. She felt amor that she always secretly dreamed for.
They held each other, ever so tightly and close together that it seemed their hearts could almost be touching.

First of all, I would like to say huge THANK YOU to all of you, who participated in the countdown, and especially to those of you, who left comments.

Here are the results of Best Princess Dance Scene Countdown as of June 2011.

11. Tiana's dance with Naveen in the bayou

No surprises here really. A lot of people thought this dance is ridiculous and strange. I guess animais dancing together is not a really idea of a nice dance popular around here.

Darkshine said: "I amor PATF, but not this dance. It's not really special, and it looks a bit weird. raio, ray starts cantar about him being in amor and suddenly the frogs start to dance and stuff and the song becomes pretty unrelated to Evangeline. At least to me."
BelleAnastasia said: "I think this scene is kind of ridiculous... It basically is two frogs dancing together..."
loveandbeauty18 said: "Think about it....2 frogs dancing GROSS."

PART 9

The wind furiously blew through the trees. The spirits became angered with the horrid sound of the gunshot. It happened so quickly and yet it seemed like time had stopped just so Pocahontas could get to where she is now. Her arm burned with pain as blood dripped from her arm. Her eyes were intense as she glared at John Rolfe.
“This is my love,” she angrily said. “No matter what you do, you cannot kill love.”
John Rolfe threw the gun to the ground, ashamed that the blood on Pocahontas was his fault. John Smith tore his camisa and wrapped the fabric around Pocahontas’s arm, covering the blood. He grabbed her, pulling her close to him. They both glared at John Rolfe. He was quiet, because he didn’t know what to say.

“You never will,” he said. “No matter what happens, I’ll always be with you, forever.”
    “Forever?” she asked.
“Yes,” he answered. “Even through death.”
“Death,” she cried. “No! John, you can’t leave me, you just can’t!”
The darkness overcame her and his whisper disappeared.
“John!” She called for him, but there was no reply. “John! Where are you?! Please come back. Please.”
Still there was no reply. Soon she realized that is was just a dream. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and she saw a bright light as her eyes adjusted to the sun. Her father stood over her and slowly helped her up until she was able to stand on her own.

"She wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts..."
"Cinderelly!! CINDERELLY!!" screamed a high-pitched voice.
I groaned. "What?"
Jaq pulled at my braided hair. "Anastasia! She need you!"
I jumped out of cama and hurried to get ready. I was wondering why my stepsister would need me this early in the morning.
"CINDERELLA!!" anastasia screamed through those godforsaken speakers.
"COMING!!" I yelled back, tying my hair.
I was almost out the door when Gus tugged on my dress.
"But what about breakfast?" his furry face looked hopeful.
I couldn't resist. I dug into my pocket and threw out a pile of corn. "Share, okay, guys? And DON'T BOTHER LUCIFER."
Jaq saluted me. "Don't worry, Cinderelly! I watch Gus-Gus."
I smirked. "Riiight."
I hustled down the wooden stairs, nearly tripping over my own feet. My stepsister's voice rang in my ears, following me as I tried my best to get to her room.
"CINDERELLA!!" she screamed again.
I ran through the hall and burst through the door. "WHAT?!!"

I thought it would be fun to do this. This is my list of who I think is the least prettiest to the prettiest. For each princess, I used a picture of my favorito beauty shot. Hope you enjoy leitura it.

10 JASMINE
She’s pretty. In fact, she’s very pretty but she’s just not as pretty as the others. She has a big long nose and big eyes. Her hair is really long and luscious which I like, but I don’t like the shape of it around her head. If she had another hair style than I think she would be prettier.

9 SNOW WHITE
Another beauty, but not as much as the others. Since she’s only 14, she has a childlike beauty, and not a womanly beauty. Personally, I don’t like really short hair. I do like her hair color though and the color of her lips. The thing that makes her really beautiful in my opinion is her smile. A girl is always a million times prettier when she smiles.

8 RAPUNZEL
She’s beautiful, but I prefer the traditional drawn princesses in terms of looks. I amor how much detail they put in her hair, and not just the hair on her head. They put great detail in...

Yeah, it has changed since last time I wrote about it, and it will probably change even mais in a few days. Also, I´ve never been good to put my opinion in to words, but I tried ^^

10: Tiana
Old Position: 9th

I amor Tiana, she is nice, ambitious, but SO BORING. I mean, how does saying: ``And we talk too´´ make you funny and not so serious anymore? Seriously, that´s not even a funny line. Still, I amor her. I think it´s great that disney decided to make a princess with a very different personalty, that works hard, and is not all about love. But it just doesn´t appeal to me.

9:Mulan
Old Position: 5th

Yes, mulan is pretty low on the list, why?
Personalty wise, I don´t think she is all that "special". She is clumsy awkward, a tomboy... Idk, that´s what comes to mind when I think of her personalty. Yes, she saves China, that is awesome, I wish I could do that. But her personalty is pretty "bland". Sigh... Insert comment about how wrong I am here.

Pocahontas took a deep breath, thinking of how she would tell John it was over. Since she had just recently seen John Smith and found her amor again, she knew the only way to be happy was to leave John.
When she was back in her village, she saw that John wasn’t there. When she asked where he was, she learned he was por the river. She made her way to the river and saw that he was alone.
“Good,” she thought. “At least I can do this in private.”
She walked up to John and grabbed his hand. He turned around. He grabbed her other hand and held onto them tightly, which only made it harder for Pocahontas. She knew she was about to break his heart, but it wasn’t fair to stay with him when she loved another.

"You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset..."
cinderela turned her head to the palace clock just a few miles away from the forest. Sunset was nearing, and Char STILL hadn't come.
"Do you think he'll come?" she asked the mice.
Jaq swallowed a chunk of watermelon. "Princey was supposed to come TWO HOURS ago!"
Gus nodded. "Jaq-Jaq right. Can we go home?"
cinderela sighed. "I guess he was too busy." She got up to pack up the comida she brought, when she heard a distant voice.
"...I barely get to see her, the picnic was the least I could do..."
"He's here!" cinderela whispered. She quickly put the comida back out.
She was still laying everything out when a shadow stood over her. Charming was looking away, still talking into his phone.
"I know, Ana. Yeah. amor ya. Bye." He sighed and clicked the phone shut.
cinderela scrambled onto her feet to hug him. "Charming! You're here! I was just about to leave."
Char laughed as they sat down on the picnic blanket. "Sorry for being late, anastasia was anxious about where I was again."

10.Ariel
This will be a little different from the other princesses, because I do think the reasons stated for Ariel have a lot of merit. The fact was, she was being stubborn, irresponsible, selfish, and put her entire kingdom in danger. However, I would like to point out that when disney created her, they weren't exactly thinking "Let's make the worst role model possible, who girls should never model themselves after!" So, from someone who thinks Ariel is a wonderful role model, I want to point out the view I think disney intended us to see. It's about striving for your beliefs, breaking boundaries, and saying that it's OKAY to make mistakes. A couple people pointed out that she wasn't succesful in the end, but I don't think that was the point. The point was for her to learn to take risks and chances, and honestly I think if Ariel new she was going to fail she would still trade her voice anyway, for her chance to live her dream. por the way, it's how I would act- If...

Feminist scholars have divided disney heroines into four groups: The Classics, The Good Daughters, The Princesses, and The Tough Girls. I'm going to tackle each group one at a time, and it's only fair to start with the ones who started it all: Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora.
The original princesses have very similar personalities and traits. They are all kindhearted, innocent, beautiful, asexual, goodnatured, and musical, and two of them (Snow White and Cinderella) are used to forced physical labor. (We can probably assume that Aurora has seen her share of labor because of her peasant life, but not because of cruelty towards her.) Also, all three princesses lack a decent mother figure; cinderela and Snow White suffer from cruel stepmothers, and while Aurora has a biological mother, her mother is unable to protect her and she spends 99% of the movie unaware of her mother's existence. The evil woman who is after them is conniving, intelligent, calculating, and often hates the heroine purely because she is innocent and beautiful, while the villainess is depicted as over-sexualized and evil on all accounts. So Walt's original creations all have very similar stories,...

Alright, confession time: I set out to do this role model countdown with a certain level of zeal that I'm sure surprised some of you, but truth be told: it's part of some deeper research I've been working on for a while.
As many of you, I'm a student of both film and feminism, and I'm particularly fascinated por how women are portrayed and have evolved in disney animation. I've been researching and composição literária about my findings with disney and feminism for a while, but I wanted to see what YOU GUYS, the devoted fans, see in your favorito (or least favorite) heroines. Are they truly good role models? What do WE as a generation value? And since several of us are from different generations than others, how do we differ?
I have to tell you, this countdown yielded some considerable surprises, and I've definitely logged away some of your responses for my research. I'm thankful for everyone who contributed in any way. Later on today, I'll be posting an artigo called "Disney Heroines: A Feminist Evolution, Part 1," and it will be a series of artigos focusing on what I've learned about each of our favorito disney women through my studies and your input. But until then,...

He waited so long to see her and had almost given up hope that he never would, but now looking into her eyes, he decided to give in to temptation no matter what the consequences may be.
He slowly moved his face toward hers, determined to kiss her. It was quiet all around them; it was almost as if time had slowed until it came to a complete stop just for them. Their hearts raced with a passion and amor that had been found again. How could such passion and amor have ever been lost in the first place? How could such passion and amor ever be lost again?

It was still dark when Pocahontas woke up the seguinte morning. She had to leave before John woke or he might suspect something. She didn’t have time to think about what he would think of her decision. She knew he wouldn’t like it, but she had to follow her heart.
“I was stupid for giving up John Smith,” she thought as she made her way through the forest. “He was the best thing that ever happened to me and I have to find him.”
Pocahontas didn’t know what would happened when she found him or if he even wanted to see her, but she knew she had to try. She searched in all the spots where she had been with John Smith. The waterfall, the giant tree, even Grandmother Willow, but she had little hope in finding him.

“I can see that you’re worrying about something.” John finally spoke.
    “That is true.” Pocahontas agreed.
“Let’s go for a walk.” John said.
He wanted to get away. Maybe if they were alone, she would be willing to open up to him again. It had been so long since they had made a real connection. PART 2

Pocahontas took a deep breath trying to get her head around who she was looking at. What were the chances that John Smith could be standing right in front of her?
“This can’t be real,” She thought. “This has to be a dream. Could it really be him?”
John Smith stood on the edge of the small cliff and stared down. The small town that has come to be built on the Native American land was getting bigger. John Smith had come back to make a life in that small town, but everywhere he looked he got constant reminders of his lost love.
“At least she’s happy,” he thought.
He hoped to never see them again. It would be far too painful to see her in the arms of another man. Still, for as long as he had been there, he had secretly searched for her. He went to the waterfall where they had met. He went to the giant...

It gave her a sense of peace that she so often longed for.
PART 1

Her hair blew with the wind and danced with the leaves that flew through her hair so gracefully. She loved the feeling of the wind blowing against her face. It gave her a sense of peace that she so often longed for. She stood at the topo, início of the cliff, looking at the water below. The waves crashed upon the costa and she was very tempted to dive into the river below.
She turned her head when she heard the small pitter patter of footsteps and she knew at once that it was Meeko, her mischievous raccoon friend. Meeko ran up a árvore that stood por Pocahontas, so he could jump on her shoulders.
“Oh Meeko,” She giggled. “You are the only thing keeping me happy in this hard time.”

Okay, to explain. I did a countdown AND a list pick. Much mais people participated in the countdown (almost twice as much) but lists are still mais accurate. So I wrote for both. I will write about the countdown first, then list, for each respective ranking. Especially since I already started to write the artigo for the countdown portion, I don't want it to go to waste. I'm sorry to include both results, but at the same time it's a good comparison to see the difference between countdowns and lists. I suggest you read countdown results first, than list. For some of the rankings I'll refer back to previously written paragraphs. At the bottom of each ranking, I will put the no geral, global prince who got that rank.PLEASE TELL ME WHICH YOU THINK IS mais ACCURATE, COUNTDOWN OR LIST (for this particular countdown).

ícones are made por JonnaSe, except for the Aladdin/Shang/Beast pictures, which I made, and they suck because I was REALLY lazy.

First of all, I would like to say huge THANK YOU to all of you, who participated in the countdown, and especially to those of you, who left comments.

Here are the results of Best Villain Defeat Countdown as of June 2011.

10. Ratcliffe's defeat

The problem with this defeat was that the viewers are left with the feeling that the villain did not get what he deserved. Sure he's to go to prison and all, but this does not seem to outweigh the fact that he almost started a war and wounded a person.

ppgbelle4 said: "It's not as epic compared to the others."
Gleek4ever said: "It was like "Ok guys story complete! oh wait, we forgot to get rid of the villian. hmm...ok..how 'bout like this...?"
DreamyGal said: "Bfd."

9. Tremaine's defeat

Again, as with Ratcliffe's defeat, people were left with the impression that Lady Tremaine did not get the punishment she deserved for psychologically oppressing cinderela for years. People thought that while the whole cinderela becoming a princess thing is a huge shock to Tremaine, this was the only...

In honor of the beautiful Princess of the Month, Ariel, I decided to write this artigo and decide what the most popular/favorite song is. Here we go...

"I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
And it's oi to the starboard, heave-ho
Look out lad a mermaid be waiting for you
In mysterious fathoms below
Fathoms below, below
From whence wayward westerlies blow
Where Triton is king and his merpeople sing
In mysterious fathoms below
Below, below
Mysterious fathoms below"

This is the opening song from The Little Mermaid. This is where we first meet Prince Eric, and most of us girls fall in amor with him. You really can't blame Ariel for falling in amor at the sight of him. That's like the pot calling the kettle black. Most everyone likes this song, they just like the other songs a little more.

"I just like the others more." -tiffany88

"Aww Fathoms Below, I amor that song." -disneyfan500

I'd have to say when pulgaenana complimented me and commented on my artigo telling how the Scamp's Adventure is better than Lady and The Tramp.
