Since mulan is princess of the month, here some thoughts about which flor fits her the best. The movie, after all, offers some choices. The most obvious one is the magnolia, since that’s the translation of the name Mulan.

Then there is the white flor mulan wears in her hair when she meets the matchmaker – the same flor she leaves behind when she goes to war. I’m not sure what kind of flor that’s suppose to be. I first considered lotus (since the lotus is such a reveled flor in Asia and gets often connected to the gods), but a lotus has mais petals. A white cereja blossom would have exactly five petals, but they would be mais round. There are some similarities with a white magnólia flor or a lily, but again, both have mais petals. My best guess is the azaléia, azaleia - a white azaléia, azaleia has five petals, looks very similiar, but even mais important, in China they are a symbol for womanhood (they also symbolize taking care, temperance and fragility, mais or less everything mulan is expected to be).

She's so pretty in this one, too bad it's not an official screen shot from the movie
So I've noticed that a lot of disney princess rankings rank the princesses down because they don't have the prettiest no geral, global scenes. Well, I did a little digging and came up with what I thought were the prettiest scenes for every princess. Here's what I think regarding each of their unique and maximum beauty. These are all scenes from the actual movies.

Mulan
mulan is actually quite pretty if you look at her. Obviously the animators couldn't make her as gorgeous as she could have been because she's dressed as a man for mais than half the movie. In this picture you can see that her eyes are a very lovely shape and she has very pretty long hair. She has nice full lips that are a pale pink. Her beauty is sometimes rather underrated in my opinion.

Aurora
Aurora is regarded as one of the prettiest princess but many pictures that people have to prove this either show mostly her hair or just her from a distance. She is very lovely from a distance but close up she is stunning as well. This picture shows that even when distressed she pulls it off perfectly. Her eyes are a beautiful tolet, violet and I also amor her eyebrows. Her hair...

9.Pocahontas
Pocahontas isn't gentle, classy, girly, or romantic. cinderela prefers a sophisticated, calm princess, and Pocahontas leaps off of cliffs and climbs trees. She's not refined or subtle in her personality. cinderela would appreciate her strength but other than that view her as too wild. She wouldn't understand Pocahontas at all.

8.Ariel
There's no reason why she would amor Ariel; she would probably feel neutral about her. Again like Pocahontas, she would find her too reckless and uncensored, and foolish too. cinderela would mais enjoy a princess that is classy and refined, and Ariel does not fit the bill. There is nothing about Ariel that cinderela would admire, and although she might find her cute sometimes, she would also find her selfish and too headstrong.

I already mentioned that I see the overused formula as one of the reasons the disney Renaissance eventually ended. But there is one other thing which was both the maker and the downfall of disney in that era: computer animation.

Back in the days when Walt disney was still alive, hand drawn animation was both time consuming and expensive – actually, it was expensive because it was so time consuming. All the animators had to get paid after all. At the same time, there wasn’t really much appreciation for the work done – filmes like Fantasia or Sleeping Beauty, which were impressive pieces of animation, tended to initially bomb in the box office. It didn’t pay off immediately to spend too much time on creating small masterpieces, so the animation studios eventually started to cut the costs down wherever possible.

This “keep the costs low” policy is the most obvious in “Robin Hood”. It’s one of my favorites, but it equals a Disney-B-Movie, since it’s full of reused animation. The carefully animation of “Jungle Book” was mais the exception than the rule (but then Walt disney was heavily involved in that project). It’s not that the...

9.Jasmine
Snow White would find jasmim rude, temperamental, and generally unkind. jasmim doesn't articulate in a calm, patient manner, and Snow White would find this kind of shocking. The only time Snow White would like jasmim is when she is saying she wants to marry for amor and lets the birds go, but otherwise find her too stubborn and headstrong.

8.Mulan
Snow White wouldn't like that mulan isn't very feminine, would find her actions very scary instead of brave, and just plain would not understand her. She wouldn't admire her and maybe would even find her a bit boring, since she's not very dreamy or romantic. Her actions would make Snow White uncomfortable.

7.Pocahontas
Snow White would admire how kind Pocahontas is to animais and her general calmness and strength, but other than that would have just no relation or feelings for her at all.

One day, jasmim was in a bad mood. She decided some brightly-colored jewelry might cheer her up but she couldn’t decide which color to wear. Just then a arco iris, arco-íris appeared. The as cores made jasmim feel happy. “I know! I’ll wear a arco iris, arco-íris jewelry,” she giggled. The only color jewelry jasmim didn’t wear was her pearl bracelet. “It’s too plain,” she thought, putting in her pocket. jasmim wanted to show aladdin colorful look and headed to the market. She notices how happy everyone was. “Wow, your jewelry looks great,” said Aladdin. “It’s as cheerful as the rainbow!” jasmim smiled as she remembered how the arco iris, arco-íris had changed her mood earlier. Unfortunately, the arco iris, arco-íris soon disappeared and the happy feeling in the market faded away, too. “If only we could find another could find another rainbow,” sighed Jasmine. “I know a place,” said Aladdin, helping jasmim on to the Magic Carpet. The Magic Carpet flew them to a dazzling oasis, with a beautiful rainbow. “I feel so happy,” beamed Jasmine. “I wish we could take it início with us,” said Aladdin. “Maybe we can,” giggled Jasmine. jasmim took out the pearl bracelet and placed it at the end of...

9.Aurora
Aurora would be an uninteresting, unrelatable, totally foolish, useless princess to Mulan. There is nothing about Aurora that mulan would appreciate.

8.Rapunzel
mulan would be annoyed at a lot of the foolish things Rapunzel does. There would be, to Mulan, a lot mais bad things than good. She would dislike the choices Rapunzel makes and just find her too childish.

7.Snow White
mulan would find her cute and funny, but there would be no admiration for her, even though she would understand her position. She'll appreciate her, but not care too much about her.

6.Ariel
mulan would find her really funny, feminine and bubbly, but won't relate to her that much. mulan would find Ariel a little foolish but in an understandable way, and not stupid. She wouldn't wish for any of Ariel's qualities. She would like her, but not be crazy about her.

I think before I go into "Pocahontas", I should explain my stance to the fact that the story is based on a real person. Kind of. And I don’t even blame the “kind of” part on Disney. Yes, I know, the real Pocahontas was a child when she met John Smith, and John Smith wasn’t anything like the man in the movie, but that’s not really the issue here. Who was Pocahontas and what did she do in life to become famous? The answer is: absolutely nothing. Basically she grew up as one of the daughters of a chief close to an English settlement, and befriended John Smith, who was send back to England because of a gunshot wound he got while being drunk. She might have been married to a warrior named Kocoum, but if she was, the marriage ended when she got kidnapped and brought the England. She was introduced at the court (more or less as an exotic curiosity), John Smith wrote a letter to the queen in which he claimed that Pocahontas saved his life por convincing her father not to execute him, which may or may not be true, and considering John Smith reputation, the story of his time as a prisoner was most likely exaggerated in the first place. But even if it were true, rescuing one single...

9.Tiana
Tiana is too grounded and doesn't believe in wishing upon stars, whereas Rapunzel's very nature is about believing in destiny and fate. She would admire Tiana for her independence, really, but there would be a lack of connection and she wouldn't care too much about Tiana's work ethic.

8.Aurora
While they would connect over the 'hidden princess' similarity, Rapunzel would be a bigger fã of a much mais proactive and self-confident princess, who takes opportunities into her own hands, since that's the girl she's trying to be. Someone like Aurora would sadden her. Aurora is really only a pawn in her story and that's something Rapunzel is trying to avoid.

This is what Princesslullaby, CuteDiana, PpgBelle4, and JonnaSe think Ariel's princess list would be.

9.Cinderella
Ariel would find cinderela boring. She's too calm, rooted, and subtle in her humor. She doesn't have anything to relate to her. cinderela doesn't have any grand discoveries or outbursts, which Ariel would love. Ariel is easily distracted and hard to interest, so cinderela wouldn't hold her attention. She wouldn't get excited about her descions or anything. Ariel wouldn't get involved nor relate to Cinderella's story.

8.Snow White
Basically it's the same for Cindy. Ariel would amor a mais adventurous, rebellious, risk-taking princess, and Snow White isn't that. But she would at least entertain her mais than Cinderella. Ariel would find a cuteness appeal with Snow White, and would find some scenes of her funny and entertaining, but that's about it.

So awhile ago, Cromulanfav wrote an artigo of who she thought would be link So now Me, PpgBelle4, Cromulanfav, and JonnaSe, came up with a list for Belle.

9.Pocahontas
First of all, Belle is too grounded to care about the as cores of the wind lyrics or the spirits of the wind or the voices of the moutain. Belle would think Pocahontas is sort of foolish and dumb. Belle would hate most of all Pocahontas' indecisiveness, and would get frustrated when she's leitura the compass in front of Grandmother Willow. They're just two totally different worlds, and Belle wouldn't like Pocahontas' personality and wouldn't really care about her actions. They just have no common ground.

8.Rapunzel
Belle would find her stupid and annoying. She wouldn't find her cute, just irritating and too naive. She would have a hard time relating, and wouldn't like that Rapunzel is trying to force herself to be happy in the tower, and would think Rapunzel is stupid...

Yeah, another interlude, but urso with me. There are often discussions about why some princesses/heroines are included in the line-up and others not. To me, the selection makes mostly sense, although I’m sure that disney decides mostly based on the success of the movie and marketing strategy. But there actually is a set of rule which includes the current princesses and excludes most of the other ones.

1. The Movie has to be based on a Legend or a Fairy Tale, not on a book or an original story (which excludes nearly all the other aspirants). The sometimes inclusion of Alice makes no sense at all, but since that’s only a thing of Kingdom Hearts, I can overlook this.

At date, there are 14 filmes which are based on either a fairy-tale or some kind of legend: The ten which already are part of the line up, and “The Sword in the Stone”, “Robin Hood”, “Hercules” and “Atlantis: The lost Empire”. It should be obvious why “The Sword in the Stone” and “Robin Hood” are not part of the line up: The former has no leading lady at all, the latter leading lady is a fox. Which brings us to the segundo rule:

So, for those who don't know me, I am ajotma.

My real name is Alaina and I am from PA in the United States of America.

I'm 15 years old.

So...

My favorito film: The Princess and the Frog. I know that some people hate it, but I amor it to no end. It has beautiful animation and I like the characters and the songs, even if YOU don't. segundo choice is Mulan.

My favorito princess: Tiana. I amor Tiana. She is a good role model and has a great personality. I like her, and I KNOW my opinion is unpopular. So what. mulan is a close second.

My favorito villain: Doctor Facilier is the bomb. I amor the song "Friends on the Other Side." I also like Mother Gothel and Jafar.

My favorito heroine (non-princess): CHARLOTTE! You know that, don't you? She is so cute and funny. I also amor Jane Porter. She's funny and witty.

My favorito prince: Don't you know it's Naveen? I like his accent, and although he starts out as a "player", I like him. I find his amor for Tiana to be so sweet! Shang is second.

10. Snow White

The first disney movie and princess is the least favorito princess in this year. Back in 1937,this movia had a lot of sucess. This princess is too innocent, that she let that a strange enter the house, and eat the poison apple. This princess scape hor her stepmother and live with seven dwarfs, thinking about her prince. I saw that I lot of people hated her, or really loved her. In my opinion, is not that I hate her, but I amor the other princesses mais than Snow White

I have to say, I’m tired of all this talk that the disney Princesses are not feminist enough. Hearing some of the arguments against them, I come to the conclusion that the only female protagonist the complainers would accept has to be single, career oriented, perfect in every situation and being able to defeat every villain with a hand wave. This idea that the perfect female role model has to be Brilhante Victoria in every situation and being able to handle everything herself terrifies me much mais than beauty standards the disney Princesses represents. Because, when it comes down to it, we all know that nobody looks perfect, but we follow expectations in other regards way too easy.

The strongest characters are not necessarily those who are able to physically fight for themselves. Truthfully, I take a protagonist who endures hardship and survives although he isn’t equipped for it over one, who handles everything quite easily and always makes the right decisions any day. And the disney Princesses are strong – yes, they make mistakes, but her biggest mistakes normally result out of the greatest strengths.

I've always wanted to write an artigo about this, mainly because I want to have a list of my favorito disney princesses, so I'd answer better in some questions, picks and so on. I'm going to write the reasons for their position and their old position with just one sentence. Their old positions were when I was a little girl (between 4 and 7 years old) except Rapunzel and Tiana because they are new princesses.

WARNING: Not to offense the fãs of the princesses bellow.

10. Snow White

She is the first disney Princess ever made and that's the main reason she is my 10th.What am I trying to say? I don't like her traditional point of view: Clean the house for... seven little men and wait them to come back from their jobs. She portraits the woman the way she used to be many years atrás (because actually she was created many years ago). But no matter what, I'm against all this stuff because other princesses who are supposed to live in other centuries were stronger than she and they didn't wait just their prince to make their lives better.

Twenty years later the Walt disney Animation studios were in a crisis. disney had already died and now the “nine old man” had stepped aside for a new generation of animators. The first years proofed a little bit wonky. "The Black Cauldron" bombed, both at the box office and por the critiques. The modest success of "The Great rato Detective" thankfully convinced the executives to green-light new projects. "Oliver and Company" was again a moderate success at the box-office, but is considered as one of the weaker filmes of Disney. To add insult to injury, Don Bluth, a former disney animator, was on topo, início of his game with filmes like "An American Tail" and "The Land before Time". For the first time in years disney had serious concurrence. So disney decided to go back to the roots and produce another fairy tale movie, one Walt disney himself had considered doing at one point.

"The Little Mermaid" naturally was designed to recreate the great successes of the past, but the concept was modernized considerably for this movie. This is especially evident, if one pays attention to the songs of the movie. We start out with “Fathoms below” – already the first...

10. Aurora - Sleeping Beauty
Maybe its because she only has sixteen minutos of screen-time. Or maybe because she has no personality. Whichever reason, Aurora is just a boring amor crazed teenager whom I don't really care for. I do amor her movie though.

9. Pocahontas - Pocahontas
I used to amor Pocahontas, but after re-watching her movie a few times I found her to be a bit bland and...not very smart. I mean, it takes a whole bunch of counseling from her árvore grandmother to realize she needs to save John from death? "I'm so lost..." What? No you're not. Go save the guy you love. It should be pretty obvious.

8. Snow White - Snow White
She's sweet, and kind, and beautiful...and there really isn't anything wrong with her. So why do I dislike her? Well, she isn't a real person. She doesn't come across to me as someone who would actually go through these events and be okay, she's so perfect I can't stand it, and her voice drives me...

I haven't seen enrolados yet, so Rapunzel's not in this. (these are in no particular order)
aladdin and Jasmine
Romantic Chemistry: scale of 1-10 (10)
These two are just so in amor you can just feel it. They've had this indescribable bond right from the start. Sure, they've had their fair share of arguments, but in the end, it's just two kids in love. <3

Belle and the Beast
Romantic Chemistry: 8.5
Here's a couple that had to learn to amor each other from hating each other from the beginning. It shows that they really trust each other and were able to see beyond the surface. Belle saw the Beast for his truly kind coração and though Belle was beautiful, the beats learned to amor her for who she was. They're a little lacking in the romantic department because I always thought they were mais friendly toward each other until the very end.

Every girl grew up with them, we all dreamed of being one <3
I amor ALL the disney princesses but these are my favorites.
7. Sleeping Beauty (Aurora/Briar Rose)
Ahhh the lovely Briar Rose, many times haled as the most beautiful of all the disney princesses. She's very nice and pretty....and nice...ok so she doesn't do much. That's why she's ranked lower but I still amor her! She's such a classic and iconic princess. Some people argue that she only shows up in 18 minutos of the actual film but thats the point! She's SLEEPING beauty. Besides, she has like the best wardrobe ever.

6. Cinderella
The most iconic disney princess. She is the epitome of a "disney princess". So she may not be the best role model por modern standards but she's a goddamn disney PRINCESS! give her a break, that the whole point of the story. The story shows that if you work hard and believe, good things will happen. Oh so cheesy, yet so classic. cinderela is my favorito of the "classic princesses" cuz she's just so quintessentially a princess!

And yes, I’m still on the topic of dubbing. I’m pleased to say that at least “Sleeping Beauty” escaped the policy of redubbing in Germany. “Cinderella” has mostly still the original dub, but for the DVD release some “marketing genius” decided that they had to change the opening scene. Who cares about the back story of Cinderella, let’s explain the audience that “Cinderella” is the American version of “Aschenputtel”. The explanation is not even correct, since the movie is based on the French version of the fairy-tale, which is much different from the German one. And for some reason they decided to replace the songs at the beginning and end of the movie with orchestral versions.

Thinking about it, the changes on “Cinderella” are the ones, which make the angriest, because they seem to be so senseless, and they insult the intelligence of the audience. I could watch the movie as a child without the information. But the movie which got the worst redubbing no geral, global is “The little Mermaid”. The first one was not even ten years old when they did a new one – and really, the only way I can explain this one is that this one is somehow related to...
