The classic princesses are the heroines of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, cinderela and Sleeping Beauty. This 3 filmes were made between 1937 and 1959, and they are the only "official" princesses made por Walt Disney.

In the recent years we have seen an evolution on the female characters after them, but are they really as bad as they seem? They aren´t.

The 3 filmes were made when women had less rights than men, and it was obviously a different mentality, but that doesn´t mean the characters itsef are sexist, they just live in sexist societies.

Snow White: Many people criticize Snow White for being "weak", or dumb, just because she cleans in the movie, she cleans the house bc she thinks the dwarfs are orphan children and maybe if she cleans the house they´ll let her stay. A very smart mover on a 14 ano old girl who almost got killed.
She doesn´t ask for a prince bc she can´t live without a man, she only talks about him when the dwarfs ask her too, it´s ok to dream about the only person who has said nice things about you in years. The Prince literally only appears twice in the movie, and he doesn´t do much lol.
Snow White is THE protagonist on the movie, and at that time it wasn´t very common to have a young female character, much less a princess working por herself. She is VERY independent for her age, yes, her lifestyle could seem a bit boring at first, but at least it kept her seguro from her stepmother. After all we only know a very small part of Snow White´s life, we don´t really get to know her as well as Ariel or cinderela for example.

Cinderella: cinderela only cleans because she has to, her stepmother forces her to do it, her situation is not as easy as running away from home, because in 19tg Century France, if she ran away she would´ve ended up donating hair and teeth or working in a brothel. Also her life is messed up, how can you not feel sorry for her?
Cindy also has her character, she mocks her stepsisters behind their back, is also sassy with Lucifer, etc. She is not a bland girl without personality as many people think.
Also her only aim in the movie is to go to the ball and have fun at least one night, she doesn´t expect to meet the Prince, she evens falls in amor with him without knowing that he was the Prince lol
And yes, she marries him, but that was her only option to start a new life ( and she deserved it).

Aurora: she is similar to Snow, she has lived most of her life isolated, but at least she had amor and happiness. She also isn´t innocent or sweet as the others, she has a dignity, the animators didn´t think of a princess when designing her, they thought of Aurora as a true queen.
Aurora falls in amor with a guy she just met, of course she does! But that doesn´t mean she automatically wants to marry him, everyone in this world as fallen in amor with someone they just met, at least she´s not as naive as Anna who wanted to marry Hans por knowing him 10 minutos lol
And yes, she is saved por a men, but just bc it was the only way the spell could be broken.

**Needing the help of a man once or twice doesn´t mean it´s sexist, in some situations, even in real life, we need the help of others, either men or women, none of this princesses are hopeless, they just need help in some punctual situations, that´s all**

The 3 princesses never change for a man, they don´t betray their family, or change the way they think, they just have the right to amor whoever they want.
