I just had this crazy idea - In the seguinte months, I'll write a series of 8 artigos (well, I'll continue only if you like them, of course). The first 7 artigos will be about separate aspects of the DP filmes (Score, princess, couple, screenplay, villain, sidekicks and animation/art), and in the final artigo I'll make the average of the grades I gave the filmes in each aspect and make my favorito DP filmes list = )

The first artigo is about the scores! Enjoy =D BTW, all the pictures I used feature my favorito song from each movie.

10. Cinderella - 7,0

It sure has a lot of nice songs – My favorito one is “A Dream is a Wish your coração Makes”. “So this is love” and “Cinderella” are very nice too. But the rest of the songs feel mais like a childish album and don’t have much of a message or big importance in the screenplay – I personally don’t understand why “Bibidi bobidi boo” got an Oscar nomination. Plus, it sounds considerably dated.

9. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 7,75

Just like Cinderella, this movie has a couple of nice songs, including one of Disney’s sweetest amor songs, but most of them are childish. However, there is a very likeable childish score in the movie, during Snow White’s dance with the dwarfes. This song fills my bedroom with joy whenever I watch the movie. The instrumental opening of the movie is very epic too.

8. Mulan - 8,0

I honestly don’t know who composed this score, but I have to say that the person did quite a good job. I mean, out of all the DP movies, this is the one where the songs were harder to fit in, due to its chinese setting and deep story, and though the job was well-done, it’s still one of Disney’s weakest scores. The solo song of the princess is short and unmemorable, but 2 following songs make up to it: “A Girl Worth Fighting For” and specially “I’ll make a man out of you”.

7. Aladdin - 8,75

Aladdin’s score has 2 main problems: The first one is that most of the songs are made to sound funny, and end up not being as memorable as most of Disney’s songs (in the case of “Prince Ali” and “A Friend Like Me”). The segundo one is that after great villain songs in THE LITTLE MERMAID and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST it is pretty disappointing that the movie’s villain only sings 2 or 3 lines. Other than that, it’s a score full of joy, sustained por “A Whole New World”, one of the best songs of all time.

6. Sleeping Beauty - 9,0

This ballet-inspired score is glorious, and I would have ranked it even higher if it worked well as a movie score as it does as a piece of art. The biggest problem is that most of the songs are sang por chorus and the only memorable one is Once Upon a Dream (one of the best amor songs from the cinema). However, it has some of Disney’s best instrumental pieces.

5. Tangled - 9,1

Its score is great as a whole, but individually, as brilliant as they are, the songs can’t compare to past disney classics. “When will my life begin” can’t compare to “Part of your World”, “I See the Light” is a poor follow-up to “Beauty and the Beast”, “Kiss the Girl” and “A Whole New World” and “Mother Knows Best” isn’t as good as “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and “Friends of the other Side”. However, the movie’s songs are good enough to provide one of DP movie's best scores.

4. Pocahontas - 9,25

Every single song in this movie is fulfilled with tons of energy, mostly because of Pocahontas’ voice – That is noticeable whenever she sings – Just Around the Riverbend, as cores of the Wind and specially in the impressive final musical number – Savages. One of the problems of this movie is that its score is way better than the movie itself – Mine, mine, mine, for example, is too good to be sang por such a poor villain like Ractiffle. The instrumental score in the end of the movie always gives me chills.

3. The Princess and the Frog - 9,3

Maybe this one is lower in most people’s lists, but I have a personal attachment to some songs of this movie. “Almost There” feels like me cantar about my hard work to achieve my dreams, while I feel like Tiana while she’s trying to get to the restaurant during “Down in New Orleans”. I also feel like its reprise could be the theme of my happy ending too. Putting that beside, we have to assume that all the songs have great quality (after all, it was the first DP movie since aladdin to have mais than one song nominated in the Oscars). The biggest problem are the sidekicks songs, all disposable.

2. Beauty and the Beast - 9,75

This score has the charm of Sleeping Beauty, but it manages to be catchy and memorable at the same time. It’s epic and gives the movie the musical feeling it’s famous for. The songs even manage to fix some holes in the plot – In the case of “Something There” and “Beauty and the Beast” itself. In fact, I feel that if we took away música from all the DP movies, this one would be the most affected. There’s not one single song I dislike and it has a lot of instrumental tunes too.

1. The Little Mermaid - 10,0

This score reaches the deepest feelings from my coração – Both in instrumental moments and during Part of your world – which is my all-time favorito song. It is filled with joy, in momments like kiss the Girl and Under the Sea. And the surprising is that even managing to do this, all the songs have an important function in the story. Poor unfortunate souls was the song that introduced Villain Songs in Disney, and I still think that “Gaston” or any other villain song made aftewards is able to reach its level.

Leave a comment = ) Hope you enjoyed!

What I amor the most about mulan is she's someone who was trained for battle but instead of depending on weapons to win the war, she uses strategy. It shows that you don't always have to rely on brute strength or weapons to win, you can use your own brain. It really bums me out that people forget that about mulan and just remember her for learning how to fight. -BB2010

I amor her bravery, perseverance and how she's willing to disguise as a man and go off to war to save her father. -LMH5113

I amor Mulan's amor for her family. She loved her family so much that she would risk her own life to save...

When Rapunzel heard the call from outside her tower, she assumed it was her mother, and her coração sank. Normally she'd be glad to see her, but after their argument, she was less eager.

Well, it wasn't really an argument. Those things kind of required two people arguing. It was mais Mother lecturing and Rapunzel listening. But it was unpleasant enough for Rapunzel to feel bad about it even after her mother left.

When she went over to the tower window, she looked down—and gasped.

It definitely wasn't her mother. She didn't have too clear a view from her tower, but the figure at the bottom was...

Before we say goodbye to not just this ano but also this decade, it's time I write an artigo that I wanted to write for a long time.
As a lot of you know, and for those who don't, Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante is a movie/franchise that means a lot to me. Without it, I wouldn't even be on this site. It all started back in October of 2014,when I started to form a crush on the fictional character of Elsa. Originally, it was because I thought she was incredibly gorgeous, and I still think so, to this day. But, as the days went por and did mais of my research, I realized how similar Elsa was to me and I began to relate...

1. How does it feel to be fã of the Month?
I was fã of the mês once a long time atrás and while back then it was a bit of a shock this time, it's not that surprising :) I don't mean that in a self-centered way, comparing to how active I was in the past to now, I like to think I'm somewhat well-known for a ton of users here like KataraLover or sunnyfields. I'm honored to be the first fã of the mês since it has been brought back.

2. Who is your favorito princess and why?
My favorito princess is mulan because I used to relate to not being good enough for my family and wanted to do something...

Hi guys, it's been ages since I had written my last artigo that I decided to write another comparison article. This time it is both anastasia and Cinderella, ready?

Anastasia

So, we all know about what happened to Anastasia. Upon watching this for the first time in many years, it was like anastasia became cinderela because she was like the lost princess that her beloved grandma is looking for, hence the ballet por Sergei Prokofiev was shown during the scene when they were in Paris, France.
The música box plays a role in the movie, it is very similar with the glass slipper in Cinderella. Both...

Today's rewatch: The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Last time watched: 2008

How much did I like this movie as a kid?

I didn't. Like, at all. In fact, after we see how Ariel's mom died that was it for me. Okay, so let me start from the beginning; If you've read my artigos about TLM and TLM 2, you know that TLM is one of my most favorito filmes and was a huge part of my childhood so when I was 15 years old I found out that there was going to be another movie of course I was excited!...

Snow White

Snow White is well known for her kindness and optimism — both of which act as her greatest strengths, as they've guided her safely through the various hardships faced throughout her life. She is quick to charm, winning the trust and admiration of the Prince, forest animals, and the Seven Dwarfs rather quickly, proving her kindness and pleasant aura makes her a beloved figure. Coined as the "Fairest One of All", Snow White's beauty lies both within her physical appearance and pure heart. With no negativity within her, Snow...

Personally, I thought Mena did a great job for the most part, but aladdin was changed from being a confident smooth talker to a socially awkward dork (and I mean dork in a nice way). The original aladdin had a couple awkward moments where he stumbled over the right words or said the wrong thing but they barely happened. Remake aladdin suddenly became incredibly awkward at the drop of the hat at one point in the movie. Some people probably...

Some people say he's forgettable but I think people automatically dismiss him just because he's not dramatic, theatrical and "hammy" like other disney villains. I personally think he's pretty badass and ruthless.

Shan Yu is actually kind of similar to mulan in that while everyone agrees that they both do remarkable things, some people think their personalities are on the boring side but I think it's unfair to dismiss any princess who isn't overtly dreamy, bubbly or feisty in some way (Mulan) and any villain who isn't over the topo, início and in your face (Shan Yu) as boring. There are other ways to...
