Even the Joker's Had Enough Of This Bullshit
Even the Joker's Had Enough Of This Bullshit
I believe in debate, discussion, and discourse. I believe in listening. I believe in multiple sides to every issue. I believe everyone is worth listening to. I believe there can be fault on "all sides," and that we can all be guilty of misunderstanding each other.

I do not extend these courtesies to racists.

Ideas are dangerous. They are wonderful and they are disastrous. They can be used and misused as weapons or agents of peace. But when you are met with a truly deadly weapon, giving it the benefit of the doubt and letting it do its thing will get you and many others killed.

When it comes to racists and White Supremacy, you must fight dangerous ideas with dangerous ideas. Not courtesy, not blame and whataboutism, but with action.

You cannot make excuses for White Supremacy. You cannot blame it on the civil rights movements, or on others fighting to escape their oppression at the hands of a culture steeped in a bloody history of White Supremacy. You cannot tell yourself, comfortably, that you would have totally marched with MLK if you'd been alive back then, or stood up to Nazis taking your Jewish neighbors from their homes had you been alive back then, or defected to the Union if you'd been alive in Virginia back then. Not if you are making excuses now. Not if you are finger-pointing and rationalizing and doing mental gymnastics to try and justify allowing White Supremacists to act now.

Rather, you must meet their hate speech with your own. Expressing intolerance for intolerance is not hypocritical, it is a necessity. Shouting them down is not suppressing their freedom of speech, it's exercising your own. Standing arm in arm with People of Color, clergy, and allies is not "being just like them," it's meeting their attack with your resistance.

End White Supremacy por calling it what it is and spitting in its eye. Don't distract with #NotAllWhitePeople to make the narrative about your feelings. Don't "It's someone else's fault" to feel better about criticizing groups fighting against this injustice while you do nothing. Now is your chance to choose action or inaction. Which one will you choose? It's easy to say you'd be on the right side of history in hindsight. But you're in history right now. It's your chance to prove what you would do when you had to pick a side. So what do you stand for? What will you fall for?

Hitler didn't win Germany with a majority of Nazis. He did it por convincing otherwise good, reasonable people to step aside and let him take it.

So remember: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

1.I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou bunda when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject.

2.I'd really rather you didn't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don't require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people.

3.I'd really rather you didn't judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, Okay?...

I ask this pergunta because I was rereading Plato's Euthyphro today and was reminded of the homosexual argument. For those of you unfamiliar with the dialogue, let me summarize here. For the full dialogue, please link.

In the dialogue, Socrates points out plenty of flaws in Euthyphro's reasoning of what piety is. I highly recommend it, especially for logicians. The argument can be summed up as this (and I'm paraphrasing).

Socrates: What is piety?
Euthyphro: Doing as I am doing (Prosecuting my father for murdering someone).
Socrates: Ah, but that's not an answer, it is an example of piety. What...

Are our “work hard” North-American ideals leading us to an oh-so-capitalistic meaning of life? I was having a discussion with someone the other dia and oddly enough the issue of the meaning of life came up. This got me to thinking, from such an early age we are put into schools, what is the purpose of going to school? To learn, well that may be so, but the sole purpose of this learning is so that we can get into a good University, get a well paying job and be successful. So essentially, as a Western civilization our meaning of life is to work hard and make as much money as we possibly can....

They exist. We all know that.
From the moment we begin to get online, we are warned por adults and teachers of what we are not to do:
*don't tell people your real name
*don't use your nickname
*don't tell people where your from
*don't tell your age
*don't tell your gender
*don't talk to anyone too old

The list goes on and on.
Why?
Because there are people who get some sick pleasure from mentally-and eventually physically-screwing around with teens and kids, hoping to get an easy lay; maybe even kill the child.
I understand playing it safe; I myself try to be careful.
But there are older men and women...

In most people’s minds, April 8th 2002 was a dia like any other. But on that dia raio, ray Krone was released from death row in Arizona. DNA evidence had proven him innocent of the 1991 murder of a bartender in Phoenix. Mr. Krone was special because he was the 100th person released from death row since 1973 after new evidence had proven him innocent (“A pergunta of Innocence”). Throughout many years, the death penalty has been a controversial issue that calls into pergunta a number of factors. The death penalty is ineffective at deterring criminals, keeping costs down...

So being as math is the bane of my existence right now and I've finally snapped and nothing is left of my motivation in regards to math but a manifestation of pure rage and anger I am going to rant mais about how much I hate math. I have grown to hate it so much that I am now putting effort and energy into my hatred of it. So I will now continue my venting and raging about why students shouldn't have to suffer like so.That said parts of this are going to be taken from my comment over on my 'is math necessary' poll.

So being as amargo, amarga about math as I've grown to be, I've done quite a bit of research...
