note: i put the word arab in quotations when i say -israeli "arab", and "palestinian"- on purpose. you'll see why when you read your way to the last myth

Also tell me if you spot spelling and/or grammar errors in this

Myth 1:“The Jews have no claim to the land they call Israel.”

fact:When the jews were kicked out the holy land por the romans, the romans weren't able to kick all of them out. also some jews did return to their início sometime after the diaspora. when the muslim empire conquered the holy land, it wasn't jew-free. many of the jewish people there mixed in the conquering arabs. then later, they were conquered por the ottoman turks, and then por england. so many "palestinians" and israeli arabs probably have jewish ancestry in them which makes this issue on lawn ownership mais complicated. yes, the U.N. gave the jews around the world this land after WW2, and these jews still had connect to the land. however due to the fact many arabs who lived here prior to WW2 may have jewish ancestry in them, this land belongs to both jews and palestnians/israeli-arabs.

myth 2:“The Palestinians are descendants of the Canaanites and were in Palestine long before the Jews.”

fact:the canaanite indentity disappeared over 2,000 years ago.

myth 3:“The Balfour Declaration did not give Jews a right to a homeland in Palestine.”

fact: The Brittish stupidly promised the land to both jews and arabs. they did this, just to get both people to serve their armies during WW1.

myth 4:“Zionism is racism.”

fact: no, zionism is the belief the the jews should have a homeland, in the holy land. supporting zionism isn't anti-arab. in fact, there's arab zionists

myth 5:“any critism of israel is anti-semnetic.”

fact: no, critizing a government's policies is different than racism and religous intolerance. Also, critizng israel doesn't automatically make you anti-zionist. one organization in israel that has been known to critize the government that i can think of is B'tselem. There's probably other ones too, but i can't think of any other right off.

myth 6: “Jews who lived in Islamic countries were well-treated por the Arabs.”

fact: Actually their treatment por the muslims varied throught out history. Sometimes the muslims treated the jews well, and other times they didn't. this relationship is unstable and unreliable.

myth 7:"Israel treats its Arab citizens as segundo class citizens."

fact: arabs can vote(including women), can hold poltical positions, and serve the army if they want to. herbew and arabic are both official languages in israel. they can travel freely too, and buy land too. segundo class citizen don't have rights like that. yes the governmenthas some work to do on making the israeli "arabs" being treated totally equal to israeli jews, but they aren't being treated as segundo class citizens. the "palestinians" in gaza and west bank are treated as segundo class citizens on the other hand, por israelis, but the "palestinian" authority treats their subjects badly too.

in fact, israeli "arabs" have mais rights than they do in any other middle eastern country.

myth 8:"all muslims oppose israel"

fact: there are Muslim supporters of Israel. you can even find an artigo on wikipedia dedicated to muslim zionism.

myth 9:"the israelis treat "palestinians" as animals"

fact:actually, they are treated like segundo class citizens. however the "palestinians" provoked the israeli government to treat them this way. yes, i think "palestinians" should be treated better, but they should stop teaching hate to their kids

myth 10: "israeli schools are segregated por law"

fact:jewish-only or arab-only schools mainly exist in communities that are primarily arab or jewish. they do have intergrated schools in israel though. however though, some israeli jews look down upon arabs and try to make sure that they are living in a jewish-only community. so yeah, the discrimination israeli "arabs" suffer from in the educational system isn't done por the government, it's done por jewish individuals who hold predujices against arabs.

myth 11: palestine/israel is arab land

fact: arabs do't have a long history in that area
like the israelites/jews have. also the romans didn't kick out all the israelites during the 2nd diapsora. also some israelites that were once dispersed return back sometime later. additionally, when the muslims conquered that area, they didn't kill our kick out all the israelites(who most of them were either jewish or christian) living there at the time. the muslim arabs did mix in with them though somewhat, but not as many arabs settled there in israel/palestine as many people think they did. during that era, there were still mais israelites there than there were arabs. They did force them to convert to islamismo though. they also adopted arabic culture and language, which evetually "arabized" them(if you don't know what arabized means type in arabization on wikipedia)
many of modern dia "palestinians" and israeli "arabs" are descendants of the israelites (many modern dia jews are too). in fact, dna-wise they don't share as much in common with other arabs and levatine peoples, than they do with the modern-day jews(including israeli jews).there's even palestinian people with the Cohen Modal Haplotype. however though, don't bring this fact up to a "palestinian", chances are you'll probably piss them off(but i did see a blog entry por a palestinian canadian blogger about this issue, and she seemed open-minded about this fact).

In most people’s minds, April 8th 2002 was a dia like any other. But on that dia raio, ray Krone was released from death row in Arizona. DNA evidence had proven him innocent of the 1991 murder of a bartender in Phoenix. Mr. Krone was special because he was the 100th person released from death row since 1973 after new evidence had proven him innocent (“A pergunta of Innocence”). Throughout many years, the death penalty has been a controversial issue that calls into pergunta a number of factors. The death penalty is ineffective at deterring criminals, keeping costs down...

So being as math is the bane of my existence right now and I've finally snapped and nothing is left of my motivation in regards to math but a manifestation of pure rage and anger I am going to rant mais about how much I hate math. I have grown to hate it so much that I am now putting effort and energy into my hatred of it. So I will now continue my venting and raging about why students shouldn't have to suffer like so.That said parts of this are going to be taken from my comment over on my 'is math necessary' poll.

So being as amargo, amarga about math as I've grown to be, I've done quite a bit of research...

Just kidding. Below are a few perguntas I’ve attempted to answer about the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC). This isn’t formal research, just a few points that I believe need to be brought to attention.

What is this ‘Westboro Baptist Church’ you speak of?
The fine folks at Wikipedia have summarized that in far fewer words than I ever could have, so if you are unfamiliar with the WBC, I would suggest leitura the first paragraph link.

How does a church from Kansas have enough money to send members to protest all over the US?
Since the WBC classifies itself as a church, they are not required...

Imagine that you are in a boat. There are other people in your boat. There is also one person in the water. Allowing this person to get onto your barco will not sink the boat. Everyone could easily fit comfortably. But still, there is a person in the water.

Now, if this person was only in the water for a short time, then yes, saying, "Hey, guys, lend me a hand onto your boat?" is probably exactly what she would do. But imagine this person has been in the water for hours. And imagine that it was other people in the barco that pushed her in there. Not you, of course. You didn't push her in. But...
