amor DS!! Have the whole series..but THE ONE PART I HATE..is when Angelique dies..so heartbreaking!
After ALL THOSE conflicts,etc..it seemed such a cruel gyp for ALL of this that Angelique and Barnabas couldn't FINALLY have true love..at least not until Bramwell and Catherine.. Posted over a year ago

Dark Shadows has reached the PROMINENCE por having the extremely incredible factors that a TV show must have - some funny scenes, creepy horror moments, great atuação from all of the characters and most specially is the well-written script. Barnabas Collins is really my favorito character I’ve ever seen from all the TV shows I’ve watched before. It's really a good thing that it's now available on DVD and I bought a copy of this at. link. It arrived as well-packaged with decent quality! The show was taped in color after August, 1967. After that, any switching back and forth between color and b/w ioccurrs only because the master tapes of those episodes have been lost and only kinescope copies exist. We're lucky to have all the episodes of Dark Shadows, because networks didn't usually keep all episodes of soap operas 40+ years ago. over a year ago

I'm not really digging some things. I don't think Helena Bonham Carter is right for Julia. She doesn't have that authoritive, no-nonsense woman quality to her. The plot seems OK, I'm not too sure about having Barnabas as a playboy and a womanizer. That makes him a little unsympathetic but it does give him a bit mais character I suppose. Posted over a year ago
jolyonforsythe commented…
I think there were elements of the "playboy" even in original Barnabas. I doubt if Angelique was the first maidservant that he toyed with. That was actually pretty common in Barnabas' day. Wealthy men having interludes with women of a lower social standing. It's only unsympathetic when viewed in a modern context. I think Helena will do fine with the Julia role. Nobody's Grayson Hall, though. She has big shoes to fill. over a year ago

I mentioned this before, but I'm kind of worried about the new film. So many people call the script "funny". I'm dreading to see them make a mockery out of Barnabas. They said they were supposed to start filming this month, but I heard it got pushed back to the summer. On IMDb, Helena Bonham-Carter is no longer listed. From I heard, she ditched DS for Great Expectations. Posted over a year ago

I have it on good authority--from a fonte who hasn't been proven wrong yet--that Helena is still playing Julia. The imdb thing is most likely a glitch. over a year ago

I dont know. I've heard that whole dumping DS for GE from several reliable sources. I hope someone else plays Julia. I'd rather see someone playing Julia because she can act. Not because she's the directors wife. over a year ago

Is there some reason why she couldn't do both DS and GE? Helena has already described the role of Julia (disappointingly to me) as "a small part." over a year ago
collinsportmn commented…
Great Expectations is supposed to start filming the same time DS is supposed to start. IMDb isnt the most reliable source, but it seems odd she got taken the exact same time she landed GE. I personally think she isn't right for Julia. She doesn't have that authoritive "strong woman" quality to her and I think that's essentail. over a year ago

IMDb isn't always acurate. I remember she said she'll probably do it. I have yet to see any artigos about her pulling out of the film. It could be a mistake. It could be a satire or spoof. I have read some of Seth Grahame-Smith's work, and he does have a dry sense of humor. But in an interveiw, he stated that they're making Barnabas "funny". I dont know - i'm giving it the BOTD. over a year ago

I'm kind of leaning with deadline, they've been pretty reliable, and I think Bella Heathcote, even though I haven't seen any filmes with her, she has that kind of look Kathryn had. I say they should use either vicky or maggie, and save the one they don't pick for the sequel. over a year ago
