In other words a lot of banks stayed afloat and actually did just fine during the depression. Not everyone during the depression was standing in bread lines singing Brother Can You Spare a Dime. In fact, many people were unaffected by the depression and many wealthy families, especially, were unaffected. Hollywood actually flourished during the depression."
