Critical Analysis of Twilight Pergunta

What do you think of Stephenie Meyer being in 'Team Jacob'?

I was leitura this interview about S. Meyer and I saw this little caption:

If Stephenie were to pick a team, "I'd say I'd probably be in Team Jacob. That's mais of my style."

I think it's a little ironic that some people here say that S. Meyer is Bella (something like that) or a Mary Sue. (No offence really!) I don't know whether she is (she could be...) but I do think it does contradict her statement on being in Team Jacob.

However, I do find the fact that she's in Team Jacob and the way she ended the Twilight Series (Edward+Bella, Jacob+Renesmee)rather strange... I'm just wondering what you guys think of it...

i agree that is a bit strange.

Team Jacob? Yeah, that's why he turned Jacob into a jerk in "Eclipse" and made him imprint into Mary Sue and Gary Stu's spawn. Come off it! She might have a soft spot for Jacob and, since she has such poor composição literária skills, she proves it por completely ruining him as a character, but I don't think she's Team Jacob at all.

Yeah, I agree. I was kinda surprised when she said she was Team Jacob. I always felt that she was Team Edward. Seeing how she turned Jake into a jerk in Eclipse and how she ended Breaking Dawn. :/

Agreed...it's pretty crazy,really...she makes Jacob a jerk, then she says she's on his team? What-?

Hmmmm, while I agree that Team Jacob is the way to go, seems funny that Stephenie would choose that team. After all, Edward is the star, the Mr Perfect, the one Bella marries and makes bebês with and spends eternity with.

I don't know... I'm not going to make a conclusion based on her statement... I mean it is possible that she's Team Jacob... Maybe she is... Perhaps she didn't know how to end the series with a Bella-Jacob ending and so she just simply chucked Jacob aside... hmmm...

Stephenie Meyer is obsessed with Renesmee so I don't think it's weird that she's Team Jacob.

Okay, so she's Team Jacob, but yet she had Bella pick Edward...yeah, that's just weird. This proves, that she was playing it seguro with her books. See, if she was a real writer, she would realize that you're not always going to be able to make all of your fãs happy. Writers take chances and she decided to play it seguro so her fãs wouldn't get mad at her. Too Bad, that's the chance you take with anything you write. Sacrifces have to be made. She should stick to childrens fairy tales if she's going to be Ms. seguro all the time.

Haha, it reminds me of in The Tales of Beedle the Bards, Mrs Bloxam's take of The Wizard and The Hopping Pot, "And the little golden pot danced on it's tiny rosy toes! Hippity hippity hop! Wee Willy Wilkins kissed and huggled the little pot and the pot was so happy that it filled with sweeties for Willy Wilkins and the dollies "But don't forget to brush your teethy-pegs!" cried the pot. So Wee Willy Wilkins promised never to be mean to the dollies and never be an old grumpywumpkins ever again!" <- Hmm. i can imagine Meyer composição literária that.

In my opinion, I believe that SMeyer is quite the hypocrite. In one artigo I read (I know the link is on this spot somewhere, if you're interested I'll go look for it) where she says how Bella is NOT her because Bella is SO much mais mature than her. Bella's mature por putting her life retardedly in danger repeatedly just to hear her ex sparklepyre's voice, whom originally left her in the first place with very dumb reasoning? Yeah. Real mature. Okay, maybe that's the wrong example to use being as it's not hypocrisy really. ^^;; But it's still dumb!

I don't care what anyone says, I have a firm belief that Bella is a wish fulfillment character for SM(in other words, a Mary Sue.) If you have your doubts, take a look at this link: link

You can click to enlarge the picture. Hope you like it. :)

I agree with you, Asvini!

Yeah! I read that S. Meyer said that she's not Bella because Bella is so much mais mature than her (somthing like that...) when I actually think that Bella is one of the most immature protagonist that I've ever seen. LOL. Yeap! I've seen that picture in Deviantart before! xD

"What does Bella cisne do when true amor leaves her? Not just true love, but Edward Cullen! None of those other heroines lost an Edward (Romeo was a hothead, Willoughby was a scoundrel, Tristan had loyalty issues, Heathcliff was pure evil, Rhett had a mean streak and cheated with hookers, and sweet Gilbert was much mais of a Jacob than an Edward). So what happens when True amor in the form of Edward Cullen leaves Bella?"

Okay, so SMeyer includes being like Jacob in a list of the flaws of other amor interests. And this is only one of countless times that she implies or directly says that she considers Edward to be flawless or an ideal amor interest. The quote you posted comes completely out of the blue. It's the only thing I've ever seen suggesting she's on Team Jacob and everything else she's said corroborates that she's Team Edward. At the very least, I'd have to say she's not being entirely forthright there.

I've seen this quote a few times actually on some other magazines and a few other websites. No hype about it though. I've actually never seen any of her frases stating that she's Team Edward. But por the way she ended the series, it probably suggested that she's Team Edward. I'm not entirely sure that she's Team Jacob. That's why I put up this question... "At the very least, I'd have to say she's not being entirely forthright there." Maybe you're right.

She posted this on her website just last week. In response to the pergunta "Is Stephenie Team Jacob or Team Edward?" she said "I am Team "You Don't Have to Choose When it's Fiction."" The woman just can't make up her mind.
