To produce children, three things are essential: blood, a heart, and sperm. Edward Cullen only possesses one of these things. I honestly do not see how he could have gotten Bella pregnant. If he were a real vampire, that would be impossible. HELLO. HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE UNDEAD. The only living thing in his body is the blood, and that's not even his. The rest is dead tissue. Hence the word UNDEAD. Zombies and lichs are undead as well. Can zombies produce children? I hope to god not. Can lichs? I've never heard anything about that, so I'm going to guess no.

You need a working coração to bomba blood into the penis, and then you need sperm to make the damn baby in the first place. Would Edward honestly have any sperm left in his testicles after about 100 years of being an undead creature? I would think not.
