Wow this is amazing...yesterday I went to church and the message was about Pain& Suffering. Well first before I start, I think it'd be a great idea to tell them that pain& suffering is not God punishing them nor God not loving them. I think this is important because we often ask the pergunta of "why is this happening to me? I'm a good person..." and often we turn away when things don't go the way we want them to. Don't pergunta the cause so much, but instead focus mais on the response for we may never know the cause until the dia we see God, but trusting Him completely and love him in the times of pain will help us get through it better, and also puts a closure on the wound. As for the Bible verse- I've got some that could be helpful - Romans 5:3 - More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's amor has en poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. - Romans 8:18 - For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. - 2 Corinthians 1:5- For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. - Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear form their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. - Isaiah 41:10 - fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Finally, I think the most important thing for your friend is to keep telling them, making sure they know that God has his plans, we may never understand it and it may not be what we wanted from Him, BUT don't ever think that we are being ignored because we are not. Passing away is painful for us, but that means the individual is up there in heaven with God now and there is no mais suffering, only happiness. And one day, if their faith continues to be with God, they will meet again. I hope this helps and I pray that your friend will be alright =)
