I've been thinking about that too. I've been thinking that maybe it was to test castelo and see if he would answer her phone call before she knocked. Like to build up the courage.

I was thinking that was one of the reasons i also thought maybe it was to see it he was início like if he could take that one or two rings to see who it was instead if he were at Alexis's speech he would have imidiatly let it go to voicemail i dont know we probably never know just on eof the many mysteries of Castle.....like where he tattoo is........then again he probably knows ;D

I think it was just to check if he was início or if he would answer her call. They must've put it in to accentuate Castle's anger with Beckett.

i think she was in the otherside of the door when she called him, she was trying to find some courage to be honest with herself and do what she wanted to to a long time ago, confess that she wanted him and BE with him.
the call , in my opinion, was just to test if he's really upset with her or was still reconsidering giving her a chance to explain.
but, this time was different... castelo doesn't anwser the phone because he was really hurt about what beckett said( that he betrayed her.. ).
in that moment, when castelo rejects the call, she realizes that she'd to to something for him, or she would loosing him again
