How do YOU think Buck got that bite on his left ear?

Look closely, and you'll see it. I've always wondered about that. Not that it's a big deal or anything, in fact, I think it makes him look mais tough and it fits him well, but I just wanted to see what other Buck fãs like myself think happened.
