"Brokeback Mountain" is one of the best filmes I've ever watched. There are words good enough to describe this amazing film. It is a fantastic amor story that goes against all odds. Although it is a story about two guys falling in amor and having an affair if you watch it you won't feel weird. Thanks to the incredible director (Ang Lee) who doesn't spoil the movie with improper scenes but shows the deep amor of the two characters. Congratulations must be given to the breathtaking performances of Heath Ledger and Jake Gullenhaal. It is understood that to film the amor scenes in a film is difficult and it is even mais difficult to film gay amor scenes. But Ledger and Gullyhaal not only film those scenes but pass along a message against all the prejudices about gay people. The whole cast is amazing and helps the story go on. Michelle Williams, Anne Hathaway but even Anna Faris and Linda Cardellini give an excellent performance. The message of the film is to accept the difference of the people. The very moving performance of Heath Ledger in the last fight of the couple and in Jack's house where he finds the camisa won't leave anyone untouched. I personally never cried in a movie, especially a romantic one, I did in "Brokeback Mountain" when Ennis looks at Jack's camisa inside his and whispers "Jack, I swear" crying. This couple didn't have the chance to live their amor free and without fear because of close-minded people who don't want them together. Jack dies bacause of the cruelty of those people without even saying goodbye to Ennis. The difficulties they have been through were caused of their forbidden amor which had a bad ending. I would definitely recommend this movie because it's a very touching amor story, the actors and the director are great. Just watch it.

ilovelv I sooo agree!!!brokeback mountain is one of the best movies ever and it not only tells a beautiful love story but it also delivers a message. Both Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were amazing and they really should've won the oscar!!!

liquidmind watching Heath and Jake I found myself feeling at home in their company -- in their environment -- in their passion, not wanting to leave -- something inviting about their lack of acceptance yet bound my their devouring passion for each other -- intensely moving without unnecessary sexuality. this film depicts not only the attraction and love of two men for one another, it illustrates how from youth's innocence, parents poison the hearts and minds of children, leaving them cripples for life. It also demonstrates, against all odds, beyond all curses, all brands,dogmas, constrictions, heartbreak that the human spirit, the human heart can ascend the highest mountain -- overcoming oneself. i've not been certain if Jack died due to those three dudes actually beating him to death or if that was a figment of Ennis' fear flashing before his eyes? So if anyone actually knows or has some thought on this, please comment. Also, the second night when Ennis returns to camp after their first sexual encounter when Ennis says to Jack;"You know, I ain't queer." and Jack responds, "Me neither." I always sensed the inherent homosexuality in Jack Twist -- from the time when Ennis stripped and took the hot water to bathe in the wilderness camp and Ang Lee had Jake slightly notice -- by his facial muscles and his slight raise of eyelashes -- trying not to give away or have Jack pay too much attention to Ennis -- but I felt this attraction from the onset - and I knew nothing about the film. Point being that I think Jack Twist was inherently homosexual attempting to live a heterosexuallife while desperately needing the comfort of masculine companionship as demonstrated by his attempts at solace by going down to Mexico -- and by the scence with Jake's mom and dad in their home at the end where the old man uncovers Jake's mention, i.e. intention to bring the ranch friend to their home, after leaving his wife, Lorene -- also, I feel after close observation that Ennis, although not a dyed in the wool homosexual, certainly wanted Jack Twist in the way one idolizes a beloved -- perhaps the hunger of a youngin' bereft of family? Nonetheless, both men, depicted unending passion, love desperation, hardship, heartache, longsuffering in academy award performances -- both men are beautiful to watch -- and the direction is academy award material All in all, even the staunchest butch or dike heterosexual can find something worthwhile within the uncontainable beauty and passion of two Brokeback Mountain men. I've watched this film countless times and with each viewing find that I've always wanted to love like that - thought I had but only had the illusion -- not the reality depicted in this epic and classic film. Artistry at its finest!
