Along side her was her...

"This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Was he a destroyer or the greatest of liberators? Why did he have to fight his battle, not against his enemies, but against those who needed him most, and his hardest battle against the woman he loved? What is the world's motor - and the motive power of every man? You will know the answer to these perguntas when you discover the reason behind the baffling events that play havoc with the lives of the characters in this story." Chapter 3 The cult

“What are you on about?” I was shaking with anger. How dare she say what I am and what I'm not “Stuff you” I wanted to say much worse. I walked away from her. Suddenly James was in front of me, smirking at me then he slowly vanished. I had to get out of here. por the time I come back it will be too late.

I was walking down the empty rua the sun had set already. How long have I been walking for? I did not even feel tired. Some how I ended up at the park... thinking of Hannah, I walked past where it all happened Hannah screams echoed inside my head. I felt nothing...

Reviews:

From Publishers Weekly

Rum flavoured por a dead man in the cask; black widow spiders nesting in beehive hairdos; women’s intestines broiled por tanning booths; teenage couples menaced por men with hooks for hands: if these are the sorts of tales that thrill and chill you, this an anthology worth picking up. Folklorist Brunvand (The Vanishing Hitchhiker) assembles a creepy cornucopia of urban legends, organizing them por theme ("Chills Up Your Spine," "Accidents") and considering them in a surprisingly sedate manner. The result is a blend of "primary text" urban...

A Guide to Answering the Unanswerable, Making Sense of the Nonsensical, and Solving the Unsolvable

How big is your vocabulary?
How heavy is your house?
Do the dead outnumber the living?
What are the best words to use
in a personal ad?

We humans are a curious species, prone to think, ruminate, reflect, cogitate, mull over, and philosophize. We long to explain away the world aruond us, to answer all those seeming unanswerables. Why are we here? Is there a God? Is there life after death? And, above all, how many houseflies does it take to pull a car?

A confirmed and...

Alan Weisman

A MUST READ

The simple but irresistible premise of Alan Weisman's The World Without Us - what would happen to the planet if human beings simply disappeared - lit up imaginations even as it ignited controversy around the world.

Weisman's "thought experiment" examines what would happen in both the immediate and distant future to the land, the animals, the oceans, our cities, our art, and all manner of things we take for granted if we were no longer here. Would the seas again teem with fish? Would our concrete jungles crumble to make way for natural ones? How long, if ever, would it take for our collective footprint to fade away?

How and why I wrote Theta Head por Greg Dawe

Twenty years atrás I was a young man wielding a freshly dispensed adult biblioteca card, roaming the aisles of my local public library. I found myself trying to find myself there – searching for something that might explain what this life thing was all about. Time and again I found myself gravitating to the ‘alternative’ section – the runes and pagans, the spiritual and metaphysical. I was on the lookout for something different, mysterious – Tibetan monks with extraordinary powers, out of body experiences. And just there, tucked between UFO Abductions...

“What is it?” Asked Patty Dransiena, “how did it get in here?”
John Dransiena couldn’t speak, he could only stare at the trembling creature that looked so innocent, yet so scary.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As John stepped out of his steaming car, he reflected on his day. He had been yelled at por his, then on his way home, some idiot had tried to cut in front of him and had nearly knocked him off the cliffs that lined the boundaries...

JETT
por KRISTEN BIERS

My name's Lisa.I'm 17.My mom died two years atrás from cancer and my dad's somewhere in the world of wonders.
I ran away from início three months after my mom pasted. My dad changed after his wife died.He got mais violent and wasn't as friendly.I grew tired of his crap.So my simple solution was to run away.Be free.
I found a house in the woods of Colorado and decided to call it mine.It was all boarded up.But i fixed it up with the money I took before I left.
Of course the money wouldn't last forever so i got a job at the closest SPCA.A job that i wouldn't have to go to college to have.Walking the dogs.I figured that would pay enough,at least for now.
Then my adventure started. An adventure so big to last ones life. The one who changed my view of life.

Clarabele was alone, alone in the dark, damp, abandoned cellar with carefully strung cobwebs made of sliver moonlight as company, and she adored it. The cellar was her freedom, her release from the cold, strong grasp of an oppressive society. She loved it here, where the only noises in the abandoned rum cellar were her and the feet of the mice. However Clarabele had to leave her sanctuary for a demonic reason.

Spirits were high on this All Hallows eve, the town was replenished from The Great fogo and the ‘occurrences’ had lessened, utter peace. As Clarabele walked along the dark,...
