Okay, so one of the things i amor best about this show was the way in which it had a subtle commentary on gender roles. I know, you may ask "so, what?" or "why is this important?" Well, I'll tell you.

Often, females are portrayed as supporting characters to the all-important male protagonist. Here, this is not the case. While i am indeed a guy, i like to see that screenwriters have progressive attitudes when it comes to gender roles. If you notice, Katara is the one who brings Aang along with her, not the other way around. Often, she plays the teacher and not the damsel in distress.

It was 8 a.m. I was running around the house going berserk trying to make it perfect for the team avatar. Zach sat at the mesa, tabela texting this new kid named Micheal who he said was related to Aang and Zuko. Now Zach calls me Micheal's grandpa. Technically I'm not but Aang was my incarnation and Aang was Micheal's grandfather. Still I soco Zach in the shoulder whenever he calls me grandpa.
