Part 17: link

“Dinner will be served momentarily. I hope you like roast duck,” queen Annis greets them in the hall where jantar has been set for them.
“Oh—” Arthur starts, about to give away that it is not one of Gwen’s favoritos when she squeezes his arm hard and interrupts.
“It sounds lovely, thank you,” she says with a smile. Arthur looks down at her and she shoots him a look that says I’m being polite; shut up.
“Please, Arthur,” Annis motions to a chair to the right of her own...

They reach their chambers, and Arthur opens the door for her. She enters and he follows, taking care to lock the door behind them.
He turns to her and gently removes the crown from her head, setting it carefully on the heavy long mesa, tabela there. Then he removes his own crown and tosses it gently beside hers, careless por comparison. He turns back to her, lifts his hands to her forehead and gently rubs it with his thumbs, massaging away the marks the crown has left indented in her skin there.
    Arthur once again pulls...

How to become Queen

Gwen had mixed feelings when she stood in front of the wooden door that separated her from the Kings chambers that lay beyond it. What could it be that he wanted to talk about to her? On one hand she...

The knighting ceremony has died down. Merlin has retired to keeping Gaius company and enjoying his supper. All that’s left for Arthur to do is envelop himself in the seguro arms of his wife after his long journey.

He walks into his chambers and candles are lit, leading him into the cama area. Excited from what thoughts are now dancing through his head, he walks swiftly to find his bride of three years. To his surprise she is still dressed in her red vestido from earlier. She is lost in a daze, her eyes looming over the courtyard. Arthur hesitates to speak, as she didn’t even notice he had entered...

Victorian London, circa 1890
Tassja_G

"I heard that she lived in a... house of ill-repute."

"No well-bred young woman would study such an instrument, and in France no less."

"Does she really think any self-respecting Englishman would marry her?"

Lord Arthur Pendragon swirled his wineglass, affecting disinterest at the feverish whispers of gossip. Vivian, the young Countess of Ridgewell, and her assortment of vain heiresses had cornered him soon after supper, though thus far they had failed to solicit his participation in their gleeful character assassination. His eyes flickered to the...

There is a lot of Spanish in this one. The translations are at the end, in the same order in which they appear in the body of the text. I had to use a lot of Internet help for the Spanish (I only had 2 years in high school, which was forever ago), so if there are any fluent or native Spanish-speakers out there, I WELCOME corrections! -k.

Valley of Kashmir, Northern India, some 200 years before the reign of Elizabeth I

“It began as a teardrop in Babylon. Where the sunlight came from Astarte, shameless goddess of the fecund feminine. The boteh. Stylized rendition of the date-palm shoot, árvore of life, fertility symbol... Some historians claim it travelled to Mughal courts from Victorian England as the foliaged shape of a herbal. But a legend in Kashmir calls it the footprint of the goddess Parvati. As she ran through the Himalayas at the dawn of time.”

Arthur seems to regain new found faith and belief following the events at the rock and the drawing of the sword. He gathers his knights and the remaining army and discusses on his plan to attack Camelot. Merlin walks alongside Gwen while Tristan and Isolde walk ahead of them. Arthur walks in between Sir Leon and Sir Percival.
“What about the drawbridge?” Arthur asks as he slows to a spot near a tree. Tristan leans against the árvore while Isolde moves closer to the knights. Gwen stands a couple of feet from them, hands firmly crossed across her chest, her eyes on Arthur. Merlin stands...

Nightfall began to lift from the walls of Camelot as sun rise was appearing above the hills, it's laranja glow streamed through Alice's windows waking the young king who had spent the night por her side. He looked around to see his wife sitting beside him sleeping looking as perfect as usual, her face calm and content but yet she still looked worried. Arthur sighed he did not want her to worry so, but yet he was glad that she cared so much about him. Merlin walked into Alice's chambers seeing Arthur awake he spoke quietly "Arthur" Merlin whispered

Tassja_g's turn again!

Port Royal, Jamaica, circa 1690

“Put me down you….you brute!”

“Sorry miss,” the voice belonging to the hulking body over whose shoulder Guinevere was unceremoniously flung sounded almost apologetic, “Captain’s orders. We’re taking you on board.”

On board?

She cursed the blindfold over her eyes. If she wasn’t a well-bred young woman, schooled in elegance and manners as befits the niece of Commodore Uther, Gwen would have cursed out loud.

She could hear men shouting, and the unmistakable clang of metal. Maybe her Uncle’s men would succeed. Maybe...

Beware of the thought
That carries you to jail,
Where iron is the captive of the bars,
And water complains in its glass,
And be careful of the prisoner’s song.
It has the singer written in.

I’m trapped. Trapped por my station. Trapped por my poverty. Trapped por my gender. The prince loves me. So what? His father won’t let us be together. I amor the prince. So what? I am only a maid, a servant. Nobody.
I should leave. Just leave in the middle of the night, never to be seen again. Being away from here, away from him would be painful, but...

The rabbit, soft and warm,
But afraid in the snow,
With no arbusto, bush to hide in,
Feels driven into the clear,
But unlucky water,
And dies, sharp as ice,
One foot stretched forward,
With nails and pele, peles on it.

The chill winter air pierces Guinevere’s lungs and stings her face as she runs, the wind unforgiving and cruel. She turns her head, looking behind her, eyes quickly searching for her pursuer.
I don’t see her, but I hear her footsteps, her angry yells, the zinging sounds as she casts spells, trying to reach me.
