Ticket prices for Ariana Grande concert shock fans

Filipino fans of Ariana Grande will have to shell out a minimum of P2,099 (not including other charges) to see the pop star\'s first ever concert in the country on August 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Concert organizer MMI Live made the announcement on Friday.

Ticket prices for the other sections are as follows: P15,999 (VIP A); 12,999 (VIP B); P13,999 (Patron); P9,999 (Lower Box A); P7,999 (Lower Box B); and P4,999 (Upper Box).

The announcement was met with some criticism as it prompted online fans of the pop star to start a hashtag on Twitter, asking for organizers to lower the ticket prices. It is one of the most tweeted phrases on the microblogging site, locally, as of writing.

Tickets for the concert, which is part of the singer\'s "The Honeymoon Tour," will go on sale starting April 14.

Grande, who first rose to fame after starring in the Nickelodeon television series "Victorious" in 2009, is best known for hits such as "Love Me Harder", "Break Free" and "Problem."
