recap: reviews of my favorito animê series

DNAngel—It’s okay, even though Daisuke does switch amor interests halfway through, which throws the series off a bit.

Death Note—This is the show that dares to ask the question, if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies, could you possibly use it for good? Light Yagami starts out killing the worst criminals from afar with his sobrenatural notebook, but he graduates on to the innocent investigators who might find him out, plus he develops delusions of godhood as well. And he seems to enjoy killing, especially the investigators. I’ll never forgive him for arranging the death of L, the eccentric and brilliant detective on the case, and perhaps the most fun character of the series. His death leaves a void in the series, though fortunately he has successors that follow in his footsteps, and his memory is left strong in Light’s head. Do not fear, L’s successor Near is here, to finally put our anti-hero Light in his place.
I’ve read the mangá and seen the anime, and something bothers me, especially in the manga. There’s a rule in the Death Note that those who use it can go neither to Heaven or Hell. Fine, I can imagine an inbetween place, a limbo. But then a further rule states that when all humans die, they go to “nothingness”. Now that my Christian mind can’t handle, especially as I like to imagine l in a pleasant afterlife. So I do something similar to what yaoi fãs do when they pick a couple they have no evidence for—I ignore the show’s canon, and pretend l went to Heaven and Light went to a hellish limbo.
A note about the music: like a lot of anime, this show changes the theme songs about half way. The segundo beginning and ending theme songs sound like pure evil. Really, if evil has a sound, that’s what it sounds like. It’s a lot of noise and screaming. Once you get used to it, the fear of it being evil wears off, though. And at least the beginning theme has some funny imagery, like Ryuk dancing because he has an apple. And at least it sounds different than most animê themes, which get to sound alike after awhile, both in tune and in lyrics.

Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure—this was a harem show with mecha. Pretty light, not very angst-ridden.

Elemental Gelade: Some have denounced this animê as unoriginal, but hey, at least it has a glowingly happy ending, and the couple ends up together! Good enough for me! And it doesn’t take to the very end to realize they amor each other. Plus we get the bonus of a main character death that doesn’t stay permanent. Hey, look who’s back! I thought you were dead! It can hurt so good when major characters die, but it’s even nicer when they return to the land of the living. In my personal collection.

E’s Otherwise—I wanted to like it mais than I did. Forget what happened already, except it didn’t seem conclusive enough, about whether that guy (Kai?) would get together with that girl (Asuka?) A crazy moment comes when one of the female characters decides suddenly that this show is a musical.

Now I know, it's really talked about and some get tired of it, so if you don't want to read it, go ahead. But I made this post because I wanted to let others know what's better: Dubs or Subs?

And my answer is...it depends on who the viewer is.

Now, let's just use Fruits Basket as an example. It's extremely popular and both the animê and mangá have been positively reviewed por many. Now I (and many other people) watched Fruits Basket DUBBED, and I absolutely loved it! It was my first ever anime, and with it in English, I understood everything and it wasn't so complicated.

Then some years later,...
